After receiving them, I was relieved to see that they are as advertised, rather than how they appeared in the picture. In terms of confidence, I'm pretty satisfied with this top The only time I have used it is As far as I'm concerned, you just need to drive it into a thick and wide enough piece of wood, or else you might split the wood. I have hammered one into Black Walnut, which is a fairly hard wood. If you want to avoid splitting the wood, you may need to cut the wood down to a smaller size after driving in the nut.
