The type 23 point thread cutting screw has fine threads that taper down to a blunt point with a large cutting surface suitable for soft metal, excellent chip clearance, and requires little rotating force to install.

The corrosion resistance and strength of 18-8 stainless steel are excellent.

There is no finish or coating on the plain surface.

Hex washer heads have a flange for extra grip on the mating surface and six flat sides for turning from the side with a wrench.

These were what I used to self-administer. On a 1967 Chevelle frame, tap screws to replace brake line mounting screws. They worked perfectly, sat securely, and look great, providing the professional customization look I was after.

Governor plugs from Harbor Freight called Predator 212 are ideal for this application

The diameter and length are ideal for plugging the two holes left after the governor was removed from the Predator 212, and it bites into the soft aluminum block with ease. even if all you have are hand tools.
