Neither intended to be attached to wood nor intended to be used as an attachment. Screws are best, as brass is a very soft metal. Glue may work for a while, but screw works better. Use stainless steel or 100% brass screws to attach the numbers to the wood. If you are handy with a drill, you can drill 2 holes through the back of each number.
Soft Cleanser from Bar Keeper's Friend is what I use to clean my house. In case there is any lacquer left on your numbers, this product is able to remove it, and then you can polish them with Brasso (or rub them with a half lemon and salt). As I've found out, there is no brass that is never going to tarnish, but this really isn't as labor intensive as it sounds. It will take no more than 15 minutes to complete the whole process. Here's what you need to know!
There was a strip of adhesive at the back of my numbers. While it may adhere to brick, I think it would not adhere to concrete. To ensure that they were firmly attached to my mailbox, even with the adhesive strip, I applied additional adhesive.
Even though I think I have attached, I do not. It's my bad. I was told to use two-sided tape by the man who installed my box. On Amazon I purchased something called "Welder" adhesive. I hope it works for me.

It turns out that I only received 5 of the 6 numbers I ordered (3 on each side of the mailbox). Within 3 weeks, they stated that they had not been able to deliver the last number (sent to a mailbox) and refunded the money. It does not matter if they are shiny and stick well. At the end of the day, a 3 digit mailbox number cannot be handled by 5 numbers. A terrible customer service experience!
P. Those five are being sent back.
There was a great deal of difficulty peeling off the adhesive backing. The numbers did not stay on longer than a few weeks, even though I cleaned the surface (plastic mailbox) well. The numbers on the table were also a bit small and hard to read. It is a waste.
Thank you for your kind words. We are very pleased with the 2" inch Williamsburg Brass Mailbox Number #1. It adheres well to the metal surface of the mailbox thanks to its size, color, and appearance. The attachment process was very straightforward, and it was very easy to install. Our family and friends will definitely recommend your product to them.

I bought these brass mailbox numbers to replace those. My method was a combination of double- and triple-checking I have been using double-sided tape and super glue to attach, and they have remained in place for several months now. I like how the two-inch size fits the front of the box perfectly, and it looks classier than the other types of numbers. Announcing an update It has now been about 3 years since we received these brass numbers, and they still look as shiny as the day we received.
It appears that the big box stores no longer carry this type of brass lettering and numbers. For such a low price, it was a great find on Amazon. It is just a simple sticker and can be applied in seconds. The mailbox number did not adhere to the wall, but I did clean the areas where it was located. It has been several weeks since we last spoke.
