Questions & Answers

I'm having a lot of trouble inserting both sides of the rubber strip into the aluminum strip. Both are brand new and come in a single package. ?

Squeeze both sides at the same time- tuck into the track – reduce the length of your sentence

The current vinyl strip I'm working on is number one. I'm not sure if this rubber strip will fit because it's only 1/4 inch wide. What are your thoughts on this? Is this item number one? 5 inches?

I was worried about the product's fit in the threshold, but it self-adjusts and spreads to fill the gap.

Is there a specific measurement for the width? The number one in my old strip is I'm concerned that this strip is too narrow at 1/8 inch wide. ?

I believe it will work for you, Sam. The strip is 1 1/8 (or 1 2/16) to 1 3/16th of an inch wide. In the metal grove, there is most likely some extra room. To insert, simply squeeze the middle and work it in slowly. It took me about two minutes and was fairly simple. I did cut the length with a box cutter. I removed the old one and replaced it with the new one to ensure that the length was correct. I was extremely pleased with my purchase and am grateful to have received it. It looks much better than the old one, and I believe it aids in the sealing process. I hope this information is useful.

Is this something that can be painted over?

It's a rubbery substance that's pliable. such as substance Paint will adhere to it initially, but once it moves, it will flake off. Unless, of course, the paint is pliable as well.

It's a perfect fit for 46-year-old women
5/5

year- threshold from the past! This insert is a perfect match for the original in my 1970s condo. Since several units have worn out inserts that need to be replaced, I'm thrilled to have finally found a long-lasting replacement that fits perfectly. Mine is the perfect size for a 46-year-old woman. year- I had given up hope of ever finding a suitable replacement for the old aluminum threshold. Nonetheless, Depending on the width of the gap between the aluminum "ears" in the threshold, 4 inches may be the limit. Mine has a 15/16-inch gap in it. To make the rubber insert installation easier, use a little soapy water as a lubricant; another option is to use a silicone, self-adhesive insert. Amazon lists it as: sticking Draught Excluder Draught Blocker Self-Adhesive Self-Adhesive Self-Adhesive Self 39" Long (Brown) Adhesive Rubber Door Bottom Seal Strip Under Door Sweep Weather Stripping Door Gap Stopper Soundproofing Noise Insulation Adhesive Rubber Door Bottom Seal Strip Under Door Sweep Weather Stripping Door Gap Stopper Adhesive Rubber Door Bottom Seal Strip Under Door Sweep Weather Stripping Door Gap It's also available in white; I haven't tried it yet, but it's on my to-do list. If you don't clean the surface with rubbing alcohol first, you might have trouble getting good adhesion!.

It was a lot easier to put together than I had anticipated
5/5

a minute or two Exceptional – We recently moved into our new home and discovered that the front door sweep was being swept by the door. The door sweep was befuddled. When I tried to re-insert it, it was clear that it had ripped along the side, and nothing short of super glue and frustration could have fixed it. It was already a little short on each side, so I added it to my list of house projects, but I wasn't impressed with what I saw at Home Depot. br>br>After purchasing MD Building brand weather stripping, the insert became available as a related item. It was a small investment that had a huge impact! a distinction It arrived the day after I placed my order, and it was in perfect condition. I was all set to remove the entire sweep, screw driver in hand, after seeing how difficult it would be to reinstall the old one, but nope! Pinching the insert semi-firmly along the door sweep, then expanding it into place, is all that is required for installation. Just before reaching the end, I cut about a half-inch off the length and pushed down until everything was flush. br>br>I no longer have to kick an insert out of the way, and I had no idea how much extra space the old one had until now. My door feels better and is more secure, and it no longer slams with even the tiniest of pushes. It's strange to be overjoyed over a door insert, but what can you do? It's the little things in life. br>br>The before photo shows the old black insert when it was kicking into place, but most of the time half of it was hanging out on the porch, never staying in place.

It worked perfectly! Our house was built in the 1970s, and the thresholds were most likely original
5/5

The rubber insert was literally breaking up and needed to be replaced, but the threshold (the metal part) had been tiled on one side by a previous contractor and was difficult to replace. I went to Lowes/Home Depot to look for the correct rubber insert, but they didn't have it. On Amazon, I was able to locate this title. Because the product isn't 1", but 1 3/16th", Amazon's measurements are slightly off. However, I was able to find the correct dimensions on other websites and confirmed that this one was the correct width by comparing the product number. br>br>I ordered it through my prime account, and it arrived in two days. Big box, as others have mentioned, but if you have other items to order, you may want to include them to help Amazon save money on shipping. It was simply a matter of removing the old one, cutting the new one to the proper length with a box cutter on concrete, and installing it. br>br>All I had to do to install it was pinch the middle/top of one edge of the rubber and slowly work it underneath the metal rim of the existing threshold. I was able to get the majority of the rubber to go into the metal groove by pulling and pushing it laterally along the threshold/metal rim. Get the far end of the rubber to seat properly by pinching it. It looks great, seals the door better, and took me less than three minutes to complete. TIP - If you're looking for a unique way to express yourself, try using the words "innovative" and "paraphrase. " Check the width of your existing rubber bumper to see if it's around 1 1/4 inch.

I was concerned that this wouldn't work, but it does! In our new home, we had an existing base with vinyl that had worn away
5/5

It was a bit of a guess as to what size it could hold. The base plate is devoid of any numbers or references. I got exactly what I ordered on time, and it was cut to size and installed in less than 15 minutes. Filling in a nearly 1/2-inch gap beneath our garage door. It took some effort to install (as all of these types of door sweeps do), but it now works flawlessly.

Replaced a seal and worked on it
5/5

Our door threshold seals were in need of replacement. We had a hard time finding the right size because our house is 35 years old, and it was difficult to install (probably because it isn't the exact size), but we managed. It's a tad higher than necessary, but it gets the job done. This is a product that I would recommend.

It was a perfect match
5/5

It's the perfect size for our threshold and is simple to cut to length. It takes a little elbow grease to get it into the grooves, but it really improves the look of our door.

Installing it was a breeze
5/5

I was unsure if it would fit, but it must be fairly standard, so I just used a small flat-head screwdriver to clean out the old channel on the door seal. It only took five minutes to insert one side in the channel and work the other in using a flat head screwdriver and following the instructions. The door seal now looks brand new.

The best part was that my home is 62 years old and the front door threshold rubber was frayed and unsightly, so I was glad I couldn't find a new threshold at my local hardware store and was able to find this product online instead
5/5

easy install and minor trimming later, it looks brand new again. My go-to online retailer is Amazon.
