When you purchase this product you will have all the tools you need to repair the screen. Taped down the frame so it would not be able to move around, and gently pulled it so it would not have wrinkles. Even with the screen closed, I still receive a great deal of light through the screen. The screen is very light grey, so there is plenty of light coming into the room even when the screen is closed.
The picture of the product depicts that it comes rolled up which was the reason I bought this one, but it actually comes folded so there are some creases that you need to get out which Quality is OK, it is not fantastic, and it is not super cheap. It's a bit above average if not below average.
This is a wonderful discovery for me. My screen was repaired by a screen repair person and I won't go back.
As part of the kit, you get a To get a thinner one, I had to pick one up. The situation is not major, but a word of caution is advised. However, it worked fine and was easy to use.
I was excited at first, but the first net was more metal-like whereas this one is much Those with children should be aware that if they lean on it, the rubber cord will be pushed out and the net will come off. This is not a very sturdy model. It will not stay in even after I push all the way in. In short, if you don't mind pushing the kit in, then you will be fine with this. Otherwise, look for another option.
It is an overall good material. A spline tool, however, is only half as useful as it should be. In terms of pushing the screen into the channel, it's good but the metal roller that applies the spline has the tendency to cut through In my opinion, the kit is fine, but I would use a flathead screwdriver instead of the tool to insert the spline.
My husband watched me complete this and he grabbed it and stretched to leave me three holes as soon as I finished. Besides the tape one, I also bought the patch tape. The old one was just replaced by a new one. It would be much easier to roll them rather than fold them. Folded is something I will never buy.
This little kit is awesome. My dad and I were able to replace the part within 45 minutes. Please make sure you do not pull the screen too tight when you are pushing it into the frame, as it will tighten automatically as you continue. We pulled a little too hard and had some micro tears on the edges, due to too tight of a fit. Easy to do though, just be patient and you'll be fine. Looks durable and good looking as well.
