Their effectiveness has been proven! Installation was a breeze! As I did not heed the advice of others and did not take the original out, I made the mistake of assuming what was going to be needed and bought a "popular" part with high It didn't work with my set up, but they were great

Returning the item (lost $7 These were not bought) but I bought them. The parts I needed were exactly what I needed, as a replacement for old (did I mention Screen doors that are in good Plastic is the material used in their construction, which means they will eventually disintegrate, but I was so delighted to find the parts rather than have to replace the entire door (costing more and taking longer). The old, cracked, and disintegrated wheel unit had to be removed before they could be snapped back into The cracked screen doors' wheels could not be removed with needle nose pliers or flathead screwdrivers (and I need more patience than I was born with) but I got them all replaced with new ones after much effort " Now all doors open and close smoothly! This will take less than 30 minutes. The old parts were arguing with me a little, so I took longer than it should have. Using the photo, you can see the hole in the edge of my screen door where I have accessed the adjustment screw that raises and lowers the wheel on the bottom track. These are shaped as they are because of the following reasons In first, the arm snaps into place, then the bottom wheel is snapped in. Next, you adjust the wheel by rotating a screw that is on the left or right side, depending on which direction you need to go. Trying to find a balance so that both the top and bottom of the screen But the plastic screw in the arm is not able to get out of the hole in the sidewall- The sticker just barely appears (and so did the original) so I guess this is simply the way the mechanism is designed. However, you will have to use a smaller screwdriver if you wish to adjust the wheel with the "hiding screw. " The picture shows an example (see below). There are dozens of screw drivers in our house, so I could use a relatively small one in the hole (a pocket screwdriver would also work) that reached into the hole about 1/8" and tweaked the flat head screw easily. The fact that these are available through Amazon makes me so happy! Here's an inexpensive and easy way to let summer breezes into your house!.

The door fits perfectly again, like an old door had never existed
5/5

The bottom rollers in the door have been broken for a long time, and I've simply never noticed them because the aluminum frame of the door has the notch to allow them to ride on the rail where the door hangs. Because of that, it has been extremely difficult to use as the door has been sliding along metal to metal and is easy to get kinked and fall off of the track. It looked like I would be ordering a new door from Andersen soon, which would have cost $240 in my color, or I could sacrifice and get a white one from HD for $140, but I did a little research and discovered I could get replacement rollers instead. It took them literally just a few minutes to align the leveling screw with my hole after receiving them the next day. The two old broken ones couldn't be fished out because the retention tabs had broken off, but I managed to get the new ones out in the end with a bit of fiddling. It was as if a light went on when you put it up and slowed the wheels down a little. It's one of those projects where we wonder why we didn't do it sooner. It is also another reason why it is better to start with a quality product from a reputable manufacturer that you can purchase replacement parts for later rather than buying a brand new product outright.

Replacing with a repaired item is better than replacing with a new one! Our screen door will just need to be replaced When I showed my husband these after the bottom wheel broke, he made a comment like this one
5/5

One year later, and what do you know? There was still no replacement for that part! Trying to haul a generic screen door from the store would be a challenge, while the price of a screen door isn't overly high. It took me several days to order this piece and have it shipped to the house after fixing the old door which had been waiting to be dumped for quite some time. It was tough to disengage the old wheel, but once that was done the new piece clicked right into place. It takes some elbow grease to clean the door & windows The exposed track on the element was revived with some WD40 and we were back in business with an
I'm also glad we avoided dumping the old screen door in a landfill, because it sat unused for so long.

There is no room for error

It's easy to remove the old rollers if you follow this trick. After ten years of regular, every day use, the last set of two replacement rollers I installed should still be working. It was time to replace the old ones, since they were still working to some degree! I could not have been more pleased with these replacements. They fit perfectly and installation could not have been easier. The price to pay for a piece of plastic is ridiculous, and as other reviewers have said, they are Yet what would you do if this happened to you? It's essential that the door opens and closes easily, and these will do the trick. In various reviews, there was also talk of the difficulty of removing old rollers. A very narrow screwdriver, however, will allow me to slip between the roller tab and the screen door frame in order to remove them. The screwdriver will press against one of the two retaining clips as it is pushed. To free the other retaining clip, move the roller a little while you start pulling it out. Use the screwdriver on the other side to push the other retaining clip into the slot. Without a struggle, it pops right off. My needle nose pliers, which I had with me, but wasn't needed, failed to come in handy.

Buying a name brand was a great decision
5/5

It's been years since I had any problems with my Andersen door. After lubricating it, it would run smoothly for a day or two, but then it would return to its old ways of dragging and often getting off the rails. It looked like the wheels were semi-flat The only problem is that you can't see them from where they sit, and they were older than 25. It took me awhile to notice the chips missing due to dog strikes, general wear and tear, and general dirt and dirt. This name brand wheel snaps in after a little prodding, and the entire assembly can be easily removed. No need to look it up, just adjusted the adjustment screws on the bottom wheels a bit until the door stopped rocking up and down while moved, and wow, it now moves like butter. All I have to do now is stop the dirt from obtaining on the track during rain showers. That certainly contributes to the problem.
