It took some time to figure out how to make a 3/8 thickness door. The first attempt to install a 1 3/8 inch standard thickness door failed, but I later discovered that the two hangers with the longer L shape extension were meant to be installed on the back door. The rail will function normally after that, but the installation instructions fail to mention this crucial step.
As you can see in the photo, the screw has scratched the top.
I was very impressed with this product when I first installed it and thought it would do the trick, but when I went to hang the doors, they would not move back and forth. This is designed for ultra-thin doors, not standard closet doors. If your closet doors are thicker than plywood, you should look for something else.
As you apply pressure to the blade, it will bend the channel. To make a clean cut, use metal snips or a circular saw with a metal blade.
The ends of the rail were rough, as if it had been cut. I placed an order for three of these. There are issues with everything. You won't be able to successfully connect these rails; as stated by one of the customers in the reviews. It was supposed to fit 1 3/8" doors, but it didn't. Rollers and rails that are too flimsy. Don't throw your money away.
If the instructions had been clearer, I would have given these five stars. There are two sizes of hanger wheels: one for the back and another for the front. If you don't notice this right away, the doors won't fit together and will scratch each other. br>Once I realized what was going on, they worked perfectly.
I bought this on sale, and because I knew it was cheap, I assumed it would have missing parts, be the wrong size, and so on. But wow! To my delight, everything works perfectly and there are no missing parts. Included is a guide! AN EXCELLENT PURCHASE!.
I bought the track to replace a bent aluminum one that I had. The inner door was rubbing against the outer door's roller hardware. When I replaced the rollers on the doors, I discovered that there are two different roller offsets, which was the source of my original issue. By moving the inner door further inward after installing the larger offset rollers on the inner door, a larger gap was created, which prevented the inner door from rubbing against the outer door's roller hardware. The steel construction is extremely durable, and the rounded rollers (rather than flat ones) allow the doors to glide smoothly.
