It simply means that the track in which the 5/8" top guide cap fits must be 5/8" wide as well.
If you had the proper bracket guide in place, it might be possible.

It is easily broken. I ordered five packs (for a total of ten pivots), but half of them were defective. I'd recommend taking a close look at similar items. br>br>The plastic material does not appear to be the same as it does in the photo. It appears to be more transparent and slim. The issue is that it is easily broken when nailed into the bi-fold door's hole. With great care, fold the door. I made use of a clumsy-looking tool. To avoid hitting the pivot's head with a hammer, use a nose plier. Worst of all, if it's broken in the hole, you'll never be able to recover it. Because the plastic is so thin, it has become stuck in the hole. The cost was reasonable. br>br> You could give it a shot. However, in my case, it simply did not work.
The item functions properly; however, my beef is that interior door manufacturers have discovered yet another way to reduce the cost of their product while continuing to charge us more. Installation is a breeze with this spring-loaded guide. Instead, they just give you a rigid piece of plastic to use as a guide, which isn't ideal. As a result, I shell out $100 for a mediocre product. Then you'll have to spend more money on parts that should have come with the new door in the first place.
These were an excellent replacement for the ones that had broken. They're a lot more durable than the originals. improve the sliding experience of the door.

This is a one-star product if you want the cap to slide down the track. It's a five-star product if you don't mind using the metal pivot without the cap.
It took my wife a long time to figure out what channel her remote connects to; ours connects to channel 3, and look for the display with charge bars on both the controller and the collars.
