When the door is fully inserted into the pocket, push on the top of the face plate to lift the tab handle, allowing you to begin pulling the door out of the pocket. The handle set can then be grabbed from either side.

This unit was purchased to replace one that had been on my bathroom door for the past 20 years. The old one still worked, but it had a scuffed finish. As a result, I decided to replace it as part of my bathroom remodel. When I first got the new unit, I installed it and found it to be extremely difficult to lock. The locking mechanism was prone to jamming and was extremely stiff. It couldn't be used for anything. I returned for a replacement, which arrived within a few days. The new unit was installed and had the same issues as the old one. I was surprised by the high number of five-star reviews. I started a new return because I thought it was the biggest piece of garbage ever made. This time, instead of a replacement, I'm looking for a refund. I figured I'd give it a shot before sending it back, so I did. I put WD-drives in it. The unit works perfectly at 40 degrees. Just make sure the internal parts are well greased before putting them together.

I bought two of these to replace the old gold ones in my jack and jill bathroom, and they really helped to modernize it. Both of the lock pulls and strike plates fit perfectly in the previous door and doorjam cutouts. Both of them were able to lock without any further tinkering. I can't say how well they withstand steam without rusting just yet, but for the price, they exceeded my expectations.

This is a fantastic product, but make sure your door jam is wide enough

As a handyman, I've replaced a few of these; however, if you're replacing an extremely old one, keep in mind that the width of the old one you're replacing, as I had to trim the door jam to get this to fit back flush in the opening because the original one was a fraction slimmer- Before the installation, I hadn't even considered this point. Thanks.

I don't want to be fixing this for the rest of my life, or at the very least until tomorrow, when I'll have to call 911 to get me out of the bathroom. The device is powered by a spring and pinion that catch and rub on the case, causing the handle to become stuck in various places. This appears to be the same model as the one I'm replacing, which had the handle snapped off in the first place. garbage.

Avoid it if you can, and instead invest in a higher-quality product

It enraged me so much that I made a video to prevent you from being taken advantage of as well. I had to snip both sides of the lock mechanisms shim to get it to even turn after installation, so avoid at all costs and go with a higher quality product. I have the proper size door, and I had to snip both sides of the lock mechanisms shim to get it to even turn after install. It's still tough to close after that.

Finish is of poor quality

I ordered pocket door locks from a few different manufacturers in the hopes of finding one that I liked. All of these cheap pocket door locks have the same shoddy design, almost as if they were all manufactured in the same factory. The distinctions can be found in the small print. The Prime-Line version I received had a blotchy-looking finish. a strange-looking finish that reflected light in strange ways The flip-side is just as bad. The burrs on our door puller hadn't been removed, so it had rough edges. This item was sent back to me.

This is a nice improvement over the old, tarnished Gold

Once installed, these turned out to be quite nice. They don't appear to be as well made as the originals I had at home, as some reviewers have stated. However, they were simple to set up and have performed admirably for the past two months. The following is my only recommendation: Apply some grease to the internal mechanism to make it easier to lock. I had one that was extremely sticky, and after I fixed it, it was a lot easier to use. I went back and redid all of them, and they're now all very smooth.
