There's no doubt that this pocket door hardware is the best I've ever Installation of the strike plate is easy while installing the handle set. However, the strike plate must line up with the handle set with some precision.
I bought two of these to replace two other pocket door locks that failed in service. They appear to be more robust than the other two and I hope they don't fail either. A precision touch is required in the installation process, because the alignment is crucial. It works like a charm once it has been installed, however. This device has a nice feature where it keeps opening the door when it is unlocked by extending the grab pull. This features may seem trivial, but it indicates that the designers did their homework in their design process. Citiloc pocket door locks are still working great as of 6/10/2017. I definitely chose the right one.
11/27/2017. The project is still in progress. That's great. The one to buy is definitely 4/13/2018. There are three Citiloc pocket door locks installed on my doors. Almost all are functioning as they did when they were new. It is only possible to purchase one.
My pocket doors (all solid oak heavy pocket doors) are often snapped shut, so I have to use It is an out-pull latch that only extends a little while the door is shut, and it pops back in even if the door is not square. As a result, I am hoping this latch will hold up much better in the long run. The lockset installed easily, locks securely, acts well, and is easy to install. If you don't know what you're looking for, it's not that easy to find out). It fits well, functions well, and I would recommend this brand overall. I would suggest pairing it with an edge pull as well.
I installed a Murphy bed in my guest room, and the door handle impeded the movement of the bed. The handle I was using worked when I swapped it out with this one. In spite of the fact that this is not the intended use, I can't blow it out of the water When you do this, expect to have to drill out the latch hole on the door 2 inches more if you choose to do this.
In the instructions, make holes of 2 3/4 inches or 2 3/8 inches, and have both templates on hand. My realization that it wasn't adjustable until I cut the hole and observed the lock came after I cut the hole. There is a clear label on the box indicating it is only for 2 3/8 holes. There was only one size of lock set in the directions, so I didn't even think to look at the box because I never saw this before. It is a long story, but I need a different lock now since the directions were unclear. In the event that you are drilling the holes yourself, make sure your box is properly sealed. A different brand has to send me the correct lock, so I have to wait for it. If the instructions and size were more clear, this could easily be avoided.
This part is fine for a pocket door, however it isn't very deep and it is somewhat difficult to reach the groove with your fingers.
I was able to retrofit a hinged door onto a pocket door kit with it effortlessly. A very nice feature of the locking mechanism is how it operates. I can think of only one negative about this product, the handle's size. Although it is small, it is relatively easy to twist. It can be installed easily, except for the strike hole, which needs to be chiseled or routered.
A two-star rating is what I needed For the pocket door at the bottom of the stairs, it has a two-sided lock. In this case, it is easy to install in the existing hole for the original lock, and the door locks. The only reason it only deserves four stars is that the latch is recessed and is a bit difficult to get hold of when turning. Despite its size, the latch would not interfere with the door if it were larger. It would be nice if it had both sides of the latch. The back of the lock does not have a latch, but I can lock it using only a quarter of a turn. I like the way it looks and how well it works.
