Questions & Answers

The interior latch was broken; There is a key lock on the outside panel. We couldn't completely lock the door, so the replacement didn't work. Only 1x has been turned. What exactly do you require?

It's a difficult situation. Exterior locks have come in a variety of vintages. Please contact Colden Solutions directly so that we can determine what type of lock you have and provide you with the appropriate instructions.

This has two parts: a lock handle and an internal lock mechanism. Is it possible for me to obtain both? My handle is in good working order, but the internal lock has malfunctioned. thank?

The reachout dead lock is not included. The "internal lock mechanism" depicted in the photos is the reachout lock's tailpiece, which I assume you need to replace.

I'm not sure how to make this latch child-proof. ?

You can add a Gliding Patio Door Auxiliary Foot Lock AW part number 1997301 to your door, which isn't exactly child proofing.

It lasted for about a year and a half
3/5

After a year and a month of regular use, the battery died. It should have lasted a lot longer before it broke, in my opinion. The previous latch of the same design lasted for at least four years. The same door has been open for 5 years.

THE PERFECT SUITE FOR THE EXISTING DOOR
5/5

Our Andersen door needed a new lock, and this was the perfect replacement! It's simple to set up. I did it ALL BY MYSELF, without the assistance of my husband! I unscrewed the old lock plates, carefully removed the old, broken lock, and slid the new lock into place, making sure the inner latch was straight out. that it went into the door's mechanism and was screwed in place, VOILA!.

Easy to set up, performs admirably, and appears to be superior to my impromptu stick
5/5

My old thumb latch was becoming increasingly difficult to operate, and when I went to lock the door, it simply snapped off, right at the metal connection on the inside. This meant that my door was no longer locked, which was a problem for home security and a pool in the backyard. br>br>I went out and made an old-fashioned solution, which was a large chunk of wood to block the door until a new lock arrived. I searched high and low until I came across this factory replacement. My previous one was a rectangle rather than an ellipse, but the internals were the same size and configuration. I just replaced the door with this one after cleaning it up. In less time than it took me to make my makeshift stick, I was back to work!.

When a purchase goes smoothly, it's a wonderful feeling
5/5

When my sliding glass door's thumb latch broke, I thought ordering this part online would be a good temporary solution because it was just plastic junk. It's not only a sturdy metal product; it's also well-packaged, comes with screws, and took me less than 3 minutes to put together. This includes a thorough cleaning and application of WD40 to the internal components. I'm ecstatic that this was so simple to resolve. It's stressful when things break, as any homeowner knows, and being able to fix it yourself can save you hundreds of dollars. I have no reservations in recommending it.

a good substitute - Longevity and durability are yet to be determined
5/5

It took me less than 10 minutes to remove the broken latch and replace it with this one. It took about 5 minutes to undo the screws and install the new latch, and another 5 minutes to fine-tune it so that it worked smoothly. Perfect fit in my door, though my OEM latch was a little more square in shape than this one's Tribeca style, which is a little more oval in shape. Nonetheless, it went together smoothly and performs as expected. It was cheap, and some other reviews said it didn't last, but I'll give it a chance. So far, there have been no issues in over two months, and I'll try to remember to update this review and comment on durability in six months and a year.

I found exactly what I needed at a great price! You must reuse the old screws if your Anderson slider has a lock on the outside, as others have mentioned
5/5

Before reassembling everything, I used painters tape on the outside lock to keep it from falling off when the screws were removed, and silicone spray on everything, including the latch assembly. This is what you need if your current indoor lever flops around and feels loose but still works properly. To ensure that this is the correct item for your Andersen slider, check the dimensions of the screw hole centers before ordering.

The latch did not function as well as the original Anderson latch
3/5

The door was not completely locked with this replacement Latch. (A key lock can be found on the outside. ) Only once did the latch turn - Door is locked and cannot be opened, but it is not flush with the door frame. To close the original latch, turn it twice. This one, on the other hand, creates a significant void - In other words, the door isn't locked. br>br>Also, the screws that came with the package were too short, so I had to re-install them. Use the original screws that came with the Anderson latch. I'm not sure what went wrong here. I suppose I'll need to contact Anderson. Or is this not the same as the Anderson product?.

It's a crappy lock, but it's a great way to replace it if you ever need to
3/5

When my lock broke, I called the manufacturer for a warranty replacement, but it would take a week to arrive; however, I saw this and decided to take the risk for the price. This is still the ridiculously cheap metal that manufacturers use, but at this price, I'm going to keep a stockpile. I wouldn't recommend this unless you already own this door. This is an excellent method for purchasing. One thing to keep in mind: our builder recommends this door. I would have upgraded the door if I had known how inexpensive the lock set was.
