SoHoMiLL Electronic Door Knob (Spring Latch Lock; Not Deadbolt; Not Phone Connected), Single Front keypad YL 99, Satin Nickel

As an added security layer between the garage and the rest of my house, I purchased this product. Although there have been negative reviews regarding the lock's performance in cold weather, I have disregarded these because 1) it is indoors and 2) I live in a moderate climate and it does not get below freezing. Here are the first two issues A POWER OUTAGE CAN OCCUR ON COLD DAYS
Sometimes, the lock can malfunction on cold days (below 55 degrees). I can turn the knob to open the door, however, the code does not work and the door does not engage. The lock, door, and frame are more likely to be contracting or expanding due to lack of space. In cold weather, I have found that using my left hand to turn counter-clockwise works, but turn the clockwise way I can't tell you why I think In regard to the second An error occurred when the code was running. It has been 5 months since the battery died from frequent use. In the past few weeks, I had forgotten to change the batteries in the door bell (the bell had been sounding a warning beep for some time). At last, the blue lights were on, but the door knob would not unlock or beep. The solution is I changed the batteries, but the code is still not working. My results were the same with the back up battery pack as well. So I began to think there must be something besides the batteries or the connection that is causing this. After I reset the lock back to factory settings, I found the problem had not been fixed. If you wish to remove the battery pack, press and hold the black round button for 5 seconds. Access can be gained by unscrewing the doorknob and opening it. I gave the locks a master code of (0123#) after I reset the lock to factory settings. The lock opened with the new master code after I reset the dial to the factory sets master code. As a result, I was able to change the master code and personal codes by following the instructions on the download. I'm going to summarize what we've talked about so far The master code is (0123) and the number is As soon as the beeping has stopped, however, while the blue lights continue to flash, enter the replacement master code (must start with 0) and then press Entering a personal code is the same, but must begin with either 1, 2, or 3. Despite that, they are only meant for use indoors. The three locks I purchased 3 months ago are still in good condition. Both outside locks are exposed to the rain and will soon be covered with The problem is, both are severely pitted because of corrosion. Here is a picture of the attached file. In the update, the replacement locks were coated with three coats of clear spray lacquer and then coated with silicone after they had dried. As of today (October 18, 2015), they seem to be holding up fairly well. You can see a picture of one of the locks that has been lacquered three times. I would like to send the following message to If you could introduce a corrosion-resistant version or option of this lock, would that be possible? There are a number of great features on this PS. I highly recommend this lock for use inside or under cover on an outside wall or fence.

One is on the master bedroom, one is in the hall closet with house supplies, one is in the office, one is in the garage, and one is in the basement. I did not have any trouble putting in the code, and the peace of mind that came with it made the inconvenience worth it. One of my doorknobs is beeping, as if its batteries are about to run out. As I checked the batteries, they were 7/8 full. After only 5 months, I truly hope this is just an isolated issue. Inspecting the batteries and putting them back in, I took them out, and then put them back in. However, they start to beep again a day later. As always, I plan to replace all batteries with new ones and hope that the next set of batteries The door to that room gets used more frequently than any other. My review will be edited if I find that this knob is not good. * * *Updates We are unable to reach the seller on his phone number. It was disappointing. As far as Amazon is concerned, I have contacted them about this. This one with the broken yellow wire was returned to me. I will use it to replace the one that had a broken yellow wire. There may have been a problem with the unit or it may have been twisted too much during This item will be improved by the manufacturer, I hope. As of now, it is more convenient than any other options I have My home has five other AV systems. The rest work and continue to work very well. The following additional update has been made I have not received a reply from the company that sells these. As a result, I was impressed with the customer service I received from Amazon, and I look forward to installing the replacement. Every day, our adult children and their friends will come and go from our house, and we have a few rooms we just don't want anyone else to go into, other than family. It was the only way to keep the doors locked, but having to go get a key every time we wanted to enter one of the rooms was a hassle! I am in love with this electronic door lock! When we know we will be alone in the house for some time, it is even able to disable the lock function. This feature has yet to be used by us, but maybe one day we'll be able to use it. I love how easy it is to install and how well it works! Construction of a very high quality! In the item description, it states interior or exterior. However, I personally wouldn't want to experiment with an exterior application since it has been my experience that electronics do not function well when it is hot. I still need to buy more locks, but it was a great lock. A recent update The lock I have installed has been in place for nine months now. To open this door lock, we must unlock it 10 times I check my e-mail 14 times a day, five days a week, and have experienced NONE of the following My first battery was built to last for years, and I've gotten a lot of use out of them. They're brand-name lithium ion that I use in everything critical and are still going strong years later. At the end of one year I'll change them whether they're needed or not, but to this point, so good!.
