There are approximately 3 inches between the wall and the end of the "hook" part. A perfect place to place it was in the middle of the railing
In addition to the diameter and depth, I do not recall their dimensions. It would be a waste of time to unscrew any of them. There was nothing out of the ordinary about their length or diameter, though. I did not find them to be monsters.

Nevertheless, I felt one was warranted after reading the reviews that said the screws were easily broken during installation. There are four brackets and 28 screws total, installed before mounting To prevent cracks from forming on the handrail and on the wall behind that I am attaching the hand rail, all holes had to be drilled. The screws did not cause any problems for me. There was no breakage of any heads. There was only one issue that I noticed a scratched finish on the end of one of the brackets. In general, however, unless you look directly at the bracket, you won't realize it's there. I think the price is fairly reasonable.
I had a broken bracket on a stair railing. I got this bracket because it looked strong, came with the appropriate hardware (you may want to get some wall anchors as well), and matched my 25-inch TV The year is There were no new holes necessary to be drilled for screws because it replaced the old bracket so well. This is an easy to install program. Exactly what I wanted. I see no reason to worry since it won't be very visible once it's I found the value to be very good.
It is worth mentioning that the metal that goes into the handrail is bendable so when you screw them in, the metal will bend since it is pliable. You can screw in the main part in any direction you wish, but we thought we had to angle it when mounting.
For an item like this, there should never be a reason to write a review It was a great bracket, but the screws that came with it were terrible. Generally, handrails are made of wood that is decently hard. Whether you use a hand drill or an impact drill, you will snap off the heads whenever you screw the screws in. Later, I ended up snapping their heads when I tried to use them on softer woods.
It didn't happen to me. I followed the instructions for installing screws and used a screwdriver. I drill pilot holes in solid wood before screwing it down so that the screws will go in smoothly. The quality is good and the product is The 2x4 studs were narrow enough to accommodate all three screws.
These brackets match those on another handrail that can be seen from the new location of the handrail. The color of these turned out to be brighter, but they still It was, however, necessary for me to use a longer screw than was I could only find hinge screws in antique brass that were longer. As the mounting holes on the bracket are recessed, they were very easy to install. Although the bracelet that attaches the handrail to the bracket is a darker antique brass color, the strap is lighter. The new railings are not as visible as the old ones.
Despite the simplicity of hardware items, I would have to say that this product was defective. What, you might ask, could possibly be defective about it? There is only one thing to fix the screws. The screw heads broke off with no effort at all, with very little torque required. When I used my trusty impact driver (and I used the proper pilot holes) the first one broke very quickly. As a result, I tried another one with a normal screwdriver. This clearly indicates that defective steel was used in the The hardware store had to be visited to get normal screws, then it was no problem, but what a pain that was!.
