When this item is struck by a standard latch, it should be unaffected.
A terrible job has been done on it. This is a Chinese product. Now they are just cheap plated metal and used to be made of real bronze. You may wish to look online if you want to buy American
But they look black even though they are described as oil rubbed bronze.

This is not a cheap product. A very similar shade of black is visible here. Although it looked like a paint job over stainless steel, the bronze finish actually seems more like a paint job over an actual metal It certainly isn't brushed bronze or oil brushed bronze even if it is a bronze finish. Very dark matte bronze almost as black as it gets. The corners are rounded as described in the listing and are consistent with the photos. You don't need to worry if you are installing these on new doors, but if you are replacing old latch strikes on existing doors, you should verify the round corners of the old latch strikes will fit the new ones. I ordered several pairs of these and they all came in the same condition - in 2s and in cheap plastic. My concern is that they might scratch each other during shipping, but I have used several pairs and all were clean.
With the two screws that come with the kit, installation is also pretty easy all you need to do is remove the old ones and replace them with the new ones. In order to install these on a new door, you must make some accurate measurements in order to make sure the "hole" is in the right position. As a whole, this is a very good option if you purchased door knobs or handles in bronze or oil brushed bronze and are looking to replace the latch strikes, as well. Despite its decent price, this product is pretty good in quality, and installation is fairly straightforward.
I've painted many door knobs with success. The lock plate shown is painted (sanded, primed, painted, then covered with multiple layers of poly) and ready to be installed. It only takes a month before the paint is gone from around the door. Even though it can be done, I think the time and cost to figure it out would be greater than just ordering one of these (the flawless picture after a year in a high traffic area).
There is nothing round about the corners of this product. I had to grind the corners round to make them Includes screws for installation, but they are not long enough to ensure a secure connection.
Finished in a solid manner. Since corners aren't rounded, either make sure your mortises are squared, or be prepared to chisel a utility knife into place.
Those who have already mentioned it have noted that the plate is a little bit larger than your ordinary In fact, I have 3 brand-name strike plates for my inside doors and this is the longest one of them all.
During the process of telling the story, I noticed how worn out the latch strikes looked at the house. We purchased this pak and replaced them all to satisfy our wife's desires. She is delighted with the results and can't believe such a simple upgrade could have such a positive impact.
I arrived on time and did the work as I had.
A standard cut has the following characteristics Our door outs have more rounded edges than this piece, which made them not fit in the door frame, so they could not be used.
