A child's age determines how long they will remain in the hospital. The latch that I usually use on gates for both kids and dogs that I make is this one. In addition to the latch supplied by ABC, the additional latches are probably able to be operated by the child if they are string enough to pull it. It has been many years since I installed any of these, but I have not heard from any of my customers about any issues.
The grandparents will have them posted on the gates. MAGNETS ON THE SHUTTER MAKE THE GATE AUTOMATICALLY LOCK WHILE THE GATE IS PUSHING SHUT. I do hear a clicking noise each time it locks, but they work well.
Eventually you may need to put a small block of wood under the two pieces to get them closer together. The magnet is strong, but I'm not sure it will pull them apart that far. The one installed at 5/8 apart works great.
There is not a latch, but it is meant to be self-closing. As soon as the gate is closed, the magnet will automatically catch it.

Please see https//www. nbsp There is a 1yo and a 2yo in my house. There is no room for errors when it comes to forgetting to lock the baby gate at the top of the stairs. Then too, I have no faith that my 2-year-old will remember to lock the gate after he leaves. A self-closing and self-locking gate that can be attached to a banister has been on my wish list for months. I am not aware of any. The gate is made of handmade etsy boards - ordered. The hinges and magnetic lock are from Home Depot (weigh the gate first they are heavy). Everything about this is perfect and I could not There have never been times when I walked past and it was not The magnets provide such a safe environment because they are so strong. In addition to that, it is also extremely things a bit tricky during nap time, but the peace of mind after ascending the stairs makes it worth it. In order to soften the locking mechanism's female end of the lock, I attached a rubber circle made from cabinet softener. It helped a lot without reducing the security.
In the early part of the year, I had a metal fence and gate installed. We have deep-rooted problems with our soil, which is pure clay garbage, and causes the ground to heave and contract in response to weather conditions. Many gate latches, especially gravity latches, are affected by this. Although the amount is not great, it's enough to cause many to malfunction. The margin of error for gravity latches is almost null The latch will not lock or stay closed if the post side of the latch is even 1/4" higher or lower than the "V" on the other side of the latch. Including the vertical adjustment, this latch possesses about a 1" horizontal range of motion. This latch has a magnetic portion that receives the post about 1/2" larger than the rest of the latch It has an oval shape, so it can be moved somewhat. Further, the magnetic portion has slotted screw holes that allow the item to be adjusted by another 1/2". There is only one downside, if you want to call it that, which is that this unit specifies only 3/8" spacing between fence posts and gate posts. I can't imagine a fence being built to that tight of tolerance and mine definitely wasn't. The latch ends up overhanging a little bit from both sides, so you have to hang both sides. It is, however, a great device otherwise.
Its use on a gate at the top of my stairs convinced me to buy it. I plan on using it to keep my dog and or toddlers off the stairs when I don't want them there, but I don't expect it to be very sturdy. I found my latch to be easy to install, and it had a strong magnet on it. Magnets are not meant to be toddler proof, so I put the magnet behind the gate at a height where it won't be seen. With a self-contained spring loaded mechanism , it worked well I can close the gate by locking the hinges behind me, so everything automatically shuts behind me. My opinion is that it was a good investment.
To be used on home made barn door style baby gates, I purchased two of these. To ensure that the gates always close after someone walks through them, I added self closing hinges. There is only one thing I dislike about the lock it can be noisy when it shuts. This knob is very easy to use, and it's very comfortable to hold Keep the noise down, but the baby has woken up a few times because of it.
Magnets are pretty strong and latch every time. They're easy to install as well. The product is excellent! I would purchase it again.
They seemed to be exactly what we wanted for custom baby gates we built. Installation was easy, and so far they have held up well so far. As soon as she is old enough to figure out how to open the lock on the gate/starts climbing on the gates, we'll see how they hold up.
When assembling, you may want to add locktite to the screws, as they are not very easy to remove. Three months after I installed my screws, mine came loose. It's a perfect product in and of itself.
Please see https//www. nbsp I have no problems installing it and it works well. If you install magnets on a baby gate, they will catch well.
