It's what I use as a guest hand towel. The regular hand towels, not the itty-bitty ones. I tested it and found that a standard bath towel will fold nicely on it. However, you will need to scrunch it up a bit to allow it to dry. I also purchased the 18" towel bars (which are perfectly adequate). You can also cut the bar to fit your space if necessary. Those are what I use for extra hand towels that are spread out. For my bath towels, I purchased larger matching towel bars (I believe 32 or 33 inches). Check the Gatco website first, then look online; I believe I got mine from Home Depot online, along with the matching tubler. To match the Gatco Franciscan, there is a tooth holder and a soap dish in chrome. All of them have held up well and appear to be in excellent condition.
The large base is 2 11/16 inches in diameter, while the petite is 2 1/16 inches in diameter.
Gatco is a company that specializes in bath accessories rather than faucets. Yes, the ring is evenly hung. The ring appears to be split and "springs" back together inside the mount, according to my theory. I can't be certain because it won't easily spring apart to reveal how it's held together inside. When hanging towels, the ring will not slide through the mount, but it will easily swing out, up, and down.

This exact style was in one of my bathrooms, but it was no longer available from major retailers. I found it here, and it's a perfect match. The quality is excellent, and the installation is simple.

the- After we renovated our master bathroom, we were at the top of the list. The Franciscan towel ring is a nice touch that looks great. It's strong, but it also has a graceful appearance. The chrome base holds up well against the wall, and the white porcelain accents complement the bath fixtures nicely. I had never heard of Gatco before, but this item exceeded my expectations.
It was simple to install and matched the bathroom's existing fixtures.
Just in case, I looked it up on Amazon, and guess what? I was able to locate one that was identical to yours! In my bathroom, it looks fantastic. I'm considering getting the toilet paper holder to match.
My old towel rack had a mishap and had to be replaced. This was a direct replacement for the original.
The base is well-made and has the right amount of weight. The actual ring is light weight, and I'm hoping it will last a long time, as my previous towel ring was completely light weight, rusted, and poorly made. So far, my purchase has been a great success for me.
It was a fairly simple installation that I was able to complete by myself, despite the fact that I am not particularly handy.
