Is it suitable for repairing a mug?

This will suffice for your needs.

A small chip in one of the corners of my car's healights. Would the clear epoxy be enough to cover the entire surface? Can the same border be achieved by sanding and polishing it?

It's far too thin to fit into the hole and would simply fall out.

This is what I use to connect glass to metal on small jewely parts. br>For a muffler, I'd recommend using JB weld or Lepages Metal epoxy, or Faststeel epozy putty if you have cracks to fill.
