Questions & Answers

Is it water-resistant and suitable for use on leaking pipes?

This past winter, we used it to repair the outside of our hot tub cover, which was tearing along the seam. Our winter was particularly harsh in Massachusetts. The tape stayed in place throughout the winter. In the spring, we replaced our cover, and it worked perfectly. My husband, who is a plumber, says it should be fine on a drain pipe, but not with pressure. It can withstand the elements. br>I hope this information is useful.

Our RV's awning is in need of repair. The fibers are cracking all along the top (near where it connects to the RV). Is this tape going to be effective?

I have yet to come across any two non-oily or wet substances that this tape could not join. It's what I call "repair tape" when I'm talking about it.

Is there a simple way to get the tape out of the way?

I had no trouble stretching the tape to the required length and cutting it with scissors.

Is it possible to use it to patch a solar pool cover that has torn?

You've come to the right place
5/5

It's a tough nut to crack! I bought it to wrap a punching bag that was falling apart, and it worked perfectly and has continued to do so even after hours of hitting it as hard as I can. I'm not sure you can put it through any more thorough or ongoing testing than that. I've also used it to repair water hoses and pipes, and it even held an old ripped leather couch together after my dog tried to dig a hole to China in it. This stuff is incredible. I just received another roll and decided to let others know about it in case they're looking for the best all-around tape available. Cheers!.

If you don't have a rescuer with you, don't use it
4/5

If you've made a blunder in the past, you're not alone. If you're left-handed like me, don't use this product to tape up your windows during smoke alerts unless you have someone nearby who can assist you if you drop a long strip you're looking up at and get tangled up. I'll leave it up to you to figure out what went wrong - It's always entertaining to imagine someone else's blunder when you know they weren't hurt and the blunder is worthy of a YouTube video. This stuff gets stuck. br>br> A lot. The window frame will not fall off a hot or very cold window once it has been cleaned. It will hold two sheets of insulating foam together to insulate windows just fine. br>br>It does exactly what it says it will. It's a fantastic product, but don't get it wrapped around your hand, and if you do, don't wave your hand near your hair. Simply put, you should not. Also, have a friend with a pair of sharp scissors standing nearby, yelling. If you don't, your new self-awareness will be a waste of time. It's possible that you need a haircut. It's intriguing.

DUCT TAPE WITH EXTREME STRENGTH: I REPAIR EVERYTHING WITH IT
5/5

NUMBER ONE PROBLEM: I accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake, causing two large holes in the drywall in my garage's back wall. I took a thick piece of plywood and cut it to fit the holes. Then I used GORILLA DUCT TAPE to cover the holes in the plywood. Then, to match the color of my garage wall, I painted the plywood and GORILLA DUCT TAPE. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN RESOLVED: The GORILLA DUCT TAPE has held the plywood securely in place for over a year. PROBLEM NUMBER TWO: The previous owner installed the tile rack in my guest bathroom on the cheap. The tile rack became loose and fell off the wall, leaving a hole in the wall measuring 3" by 5". I didn't need the tile rack, so rather than patching the hole with drywall, I opted for a more creative solution. GORILLA DUCT TAPE was used to cover the hole. Then I painted the area to match my bathroom's wall color. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN RESOLVED: The painted GORILLA DUCT TAPE is sturdy and does a good job of concealing the hole. and is the same hue as the walls. br>THE THIRD PROBLEM: In my guest bathroom, I took out the old caulking around the toilet's base. Then I caulked the toilet's base with new caulking. Then I covered the caulking around the base of the toilet with BLACK GORILLA DUCT TAPE to strengthen the area and cover the caulking. THE PROBLEM HAS BEEN RESOLVED: The BLACK GORILLA DUCT neatly covers the caulking and protects it from damage. In addition, the BLACK GORILLA DUCT TAPE around the base of my toilet gives my white porcelain toilet a distinct appearance.

Is it a bad thing that it's difficult to get rid of? I've used gorilla tape to repair car bodywork
5/5

That is how difficult it is. It has a hard time adhering to cardboard. Clear packing tape, on the other hand, is significantly less expensive. It's bad to leave on your skin for long periods of time, but if you're a sadist, you can use it to remove hair; for normal or intended uses, it's second to none. It works well on ductwork, repairs, metal, plastic, and even glass. Because of its strength, it is not suitable for wood, as it will pull the wood apart. It isn't completely watertight. Epoxy can be used to repair leaks, but it can also be used as a temporary fix to get you to the next gas station. Consider it a high-tech version of duct tape. Regardless of what it lacks, I adore it because it excels at what it does.

Extremely robust and long-lasting
5/5

I bought this to connect some rubber floor mats I bought for my garage gym at home. The mats are 4x8 and 3/8 inch thick, as well as being quite heavy. After flipping the seams over, I used tape on the underside to hold them together. I was concerned that the tape would come undone during the flipping process because I was working alone and taping three mats together, so I had to flip an 8x12 foot mat, which held up well. I did use three strips on each seam, as well as a few perpendicular strips on each end. It's holding up very well now that it's been flipped and the tape is against the cement floor with the weight on top. The seams are still tight despite the humid days we've had in Michigan, as well as some rain getting under the mats. Since the weight continues to put pressure on the seams, I don't think they'll ever come undone. br>br>Of course, everyone knows how useful duct tape is, and this stuff is definitely a step up from the 3M stuff. Duck Tape, in my opinion, is the strongest and most durable brand of tape. Because it's thicker and stickier than other brands, it's definitely more durable, but it's still simple to tear into the lengths required. br>br>Duct tape is definitely my new go-to.

Amazing - dishwashers are also repaired! This tape was purchased to take on vacation for emergency repairs, but it has since been put to many other uses around the house
5/5

It is definitely stickier and tougher than regular duct tape, but I had no idea how tough or sticky it was until this week. Our dishwasher's feed tube broke last week, preventing the dishes from being properly cleaned. I was going to order a new part, but I figured I'd give this tape a shot as a temporary fix. I expected it to last only a few wash cycles, but it's still going strong after a week. Actually, it's in the dishwasher's compartment - Despite the use of hot water, soap, and other cleaning agents, everything is still in place. This is a lot more than I had anticipated. I'll keep a roll handy at all times.

Very well done
4/5

The grip is excellent. A word of advice: I wish these kinds of tapes had edges that were the same color as the tape itself. When I buy black tape, for example, the edges are almost white due to the visible reinforcement material. In some cases, appearance is important, and the lighter color edges stand out too much. Manufacturers should use reinforcement material that matches the tape's color.
