It withstands the elements well. Just stay away from the ducts. Rubber is used to make the adhesive, and it adheres well to almost any clean, dry surface. The adhesive will not stick to a wet surface. The backing is more durable than standard duct tape. br>br> It's a tough material that won't tear. And it's not at all stretchy. br>br>When I'm doing construction or remodeling, I use this for a variety of tasks. It works well on everything from Romex to fiberglass pull rods. Tear off a piece and use it to label things like the world's toughest Post-it. It adheres to glass and mirrors with incredible tenacity. I've used it outside to temporarily attach items and left it for months at a time, and it's held up admirably in the sun and rain. Simply avoid using it on ducts. br>br> There is no need to use a cloth. On ducts, use duct tape. It simply will not hold up over time. Make use of metal. instead of using a tape that is based on it It's widely available and far better suited to the task at hand.
It's the right color for Army or Air Force OCP, it's very, very sticky like standard "100 MPH Tape," and it's a decent thickness that tears intro strips easily. It works well for taping up straps on bags, sticks well for putting temporary name tapes on things, and comes in a large roll for use elsewhere in the house where duct taping is required. Excellent value for money.
I'm only able to give it a mediocre rating. The adhesive is exceptional for a tape at this price point. The backing appears to be adequate, but I haven't had the opportunity to test it thoroughly. The problem, however, is with the middle threads. It's ok in terms of strength, but it's difficult to get it to tear across the tape; it prefers to tear a portion of the way across before going linear, which isn't ideal. Again, it's adequate for a budget tape, but it'd be fantastic if the cross threads were made stronger so that it didn't tear as much lengthwise.
The answer is yes. However, this, repair stuff, and repairs last a lot longer. Don't you have anything better to do with your time than re-repair and drive to the store for more junk duct tape that doesn't stick and has too few reinforcement threads in it? It wasn't waterproof because you used it outside! It fell apart after a few days; cheap duct tape will not save you!.
*An interesting fact: The standard form of this type of tape was originally referred to as 'duck' tape because of its water repellent properties, rather than 'duct' (because it is not intended to be used to seal ducts). br>br>Meanwhile, here's my take on the book: This Nashua tape is a smidge thinner than standard silver tape. It's simple to tear with your hands and leave a clean edge. It has a high level of adhesion. The plastic backing does not easily separate/peel from the adhesive, which is a positive feature of the product.
I bought this to take camping and for my bug out bag/emergency bag, among other things, because I've used duct tape more than I expected to in the outdoors. It made me reconsider its utility if I ever had to bug out or return home from my stranded vehicle. This tape is tough, sticks like a dream, and comes in a color that is more appealing to outdoormen and women. I haven't tried it as a fire starter like you can with traditional silver duct tape, but I plan to do so this weekend when we go camping. That is the only thing that would entice me to return.
I had high hopes for this. It rips way too easily and doesn't stick to most things very well. I understand that you won't get the same high-quality duct tape for this price, but this stuff is just WAY too cheaply made. I won't buy this tape again, but I will purchase some of Nashua's higher-quality tapes. There's nothing to complain about there.
These were used to reseal the inside of a car door panel's plastic weatherproofing. It clings to the surface with ease. There will be a lot of tape on this roll, so it will last me a long time. Waterproofing is excellent. It leaves a little residue around the edges, but it's more than likely that wherever you use it, that's where it'll end up. When my father worked as a project manager on construction sites, he recommended this tape to me, and I'm grateful he did. This is an excellent cassette. It's far superior to Harbor Freight or Duck brand.
