To secure the vapor barrier to the cinder block wall, I didn't use the vapor barrier seam tape. That was done with GSSI Sealants Butyl tape. I would not recommend using seam tape to secure to the wall because the cinder block wall is likely to be either very dirty or contaminated with effloresence, making it impossible for anything to adhere to it, including butyl tape. Because about half of the walls in my crawl space were efflorescent, I used the steps below to secure the vapor barrier to the wall. Keeping in mind the Code requirements for a termite inspection gap and minimum distance up the wall from grade, I ran butyl tape along the wall near the top of where I wanted the vapor barrier edge. After that, I used butyl tape to secure the vapor barrier's edge. Finally, I used concrete screws drilled into the mortar between the cinder blocks to secure 8' long sections of 1" x 2" PVC boards from Home Depot over the butyl tape and vapor barrier. I was very pleased with the end result, and I used the vapor barrier seam tape you mentioned for the seams and was very pleased with how it performed. Remember to check the code requirements for the barrier's minimum seam overlap. I wish you luck with your endeavor.
No, I don't think so. It was only a few weeks ago that I gave it a shot. For it to stick, the concrete would have to be spotless and dust-free, which is unusual. I use roofing tar or a similar adhesive to adhere my vapor barrier to concrete.

I liked how it was less expensive than other vapor barrier tape I found while still being 4" wide. It did a good job of covering up the gaps and overlaps. When I ran out of tape near the end of my encapsulation project, I decided to split it in half lengthwise, which worked perfectly! Even with a 2" width, the tape worked well and adhered well; I noticed that its adhesion wasn't quite as strong as other vapor barrier tape I'd used, but it was less expensive and still adhered well, so that's fine with me. This is something I'd buy again if I had the opportunity.
This tape is extremely durable and adheres well to polyethylene plastic. It's also long and wide, resulting in a strong bond. It's not easy to work with because it sticks to the roll and is difficult to unfurl, but I tell myself that the adhesion is a testament to its strength. Normally, I wouldn't mind it if getting off the roll was difficult, but it can be inconvenient to use in a cramped crawl space.
After three days, it simply peels off. It hangs from the ceiling like a droop. I'm still debating what to do with this tape and whether or not it has any other applications or materials to which it would adhere better. despite the fact that it was stated in the description that it would adhere to PE.
This tape was purchased to repair the holes in the unfinished basement vapor barrier. Everything went swimmingly.
Garbage. Garbage. The only purpose of this crap is to adhere to concrete and plastic surfaces. It got half of it correct, at the very least. Despite the fact that the concrete was clean and dry, the tape would not stick for more than 30 seconds. crap. BUY ONLY IF YOU NEED TO TAPE A LOT OF PLASTIC TOGETHER.
This is the most affordable option, and it performs similarly to alternatives that cost twice as much. It also has easy tear edges, which the higher-priced tape does not have at this time. I'm glad I found this tape because I can use it for a variety of things. This product performs better than expected, and I will be purchasing it in the future. Thank you very much!.
I made it simple to remove by X'ing it. Why would you want something that is simple to take away? For the next 50 years, I want it to be stuck. br>Vapor barriers (polyethylene sheet -) were taped with this tool. a thick substance) in a crawl space beneath a house br>Had to be very careful the first time to get it right - If it's stuck sticky to sticky, cut it away. br>It appears to be excellent material. This was purchased to join sections of water heater insulation blankets that I had cut to make garage door insulation blankets. I bought some pre-owned cars a long time ago. Garage door insulation blankets with vinyl covers were made, and they worked well. They don't appear to be manufactured any longer, so after installing new garage doors, I made my own. br>On the vinyl coverings, this tape worked perfectly to join the pieces. It also adhered well to the edges of the garage doors. br>If you want a long-lasting bond, clean the surfaces with alcohol or acetone first and let it dry before applying the tape. br>If you want to remove it, make sure you apply it where you want it the first time. If you accidentally touch the sticky sides of the tape together, you should cut another piece because pulling the tape apart without ripping it is nearly impossible. br>Given how well it adheres to vinyl, I believe it would be a good choice for PE sheet films and vapor barriers as well.
