Questions & Answers

How much is one container expected to yield? For my sheathing seams, I plan on using this in combination with 3M sealing tape. ?

It's not difficult at all. The vinyl has a good grip on the surface. At the edges and to glue an overlap, I only used a 1/2 inch bead of primer. To be honest, I'm not sure I needed it.

Is this product as effective at sealing vinyl wrap edges as the 3M edge sealer?

I'm not sure how well the edge sealer works, but the primer does. About four years ago, I used it to wrap my motorcycle wheels in 3M carbon fiber vinyl, and the wheels are still as perfect as the day I wrapped them.

Is the underlying paint or plastic that this is applied to going to be ruined as a result of this?

I haven't seen anything like that. This primer came in handy when I needed to lay out some di- I used a noc carbon fiber wrap on some panels of my Honda Shadow VLX as long as I heated the vinyl and primed it before peeling it off. There was no peeling of paint. I also used it to help led strips stick to some surfaces on my Suzuki Boulevard C50 (I already had 3m double sided tape, so I just used the primer to make sure they stuck). Apply a small amount of heat and peel slowly. To soften the primer, you can also use alcohol.

To attach to the plastic entry, I bought metal door sills for my car. Although the fit is good, the 3M tape does not adhere. Is this the item I'm looking for?

This is the correct promoter for your application, but I'm not sure you've got the correct 3M tape. (Even if you only have 3M tape, this adhesion promoter will be extremely helpful.) Before applying the promoter, make sure the surface is clean with isopropyl alcohol.

For velcro, I used this
5/5

I put a Bedrug on my truck and read a couple of reviews that said the velcro would come undone. This item was purchased to aid adhesion. I put two strips of velcro on a sheet of aluminum to test it out before going all out and using it. I cleaned, dried, and then rubbed alcohol both areas in the same way. I painted one strip of metal with this and let it dry for two days. Both pieces adhered extremely well, but the adhesion promotor-prepped area is nearly impossible to remove. br>br>The only thing that bothered me was the odor and the warnings. It worked perfectly, but there are a couple of points to consider
4/5

It worked perfectly, but there are a couple of points to consider. This product performed admirably and in accordance with its specifications. It was used to help seal the edges of a vinyl wrap on some motorcycle parts with a lot of weird curves and angles. It made a big difference. The little can has a lift lid, similar to a paint can, when it arrives. I'd like to point out that instead of pouring the product into something, I used it straight from the can. It worked fine, but after leaving it open for several hours while I worked, I noticed that there was some evaporation. I only mention this because you might want to keep that in mind if you have a large area to cover with it. There is a fair amount of odor, as I believe others have mentioned, so use in a well-ventilated area. Overall, I am very pleased with the service and will use it again.

I used it on oil-stained wood and it turned out beautifully
5/5

Although my use of this product was not listed on the instructions, I purchased it and used it with a 3M adhesive backing. br>br>I was worried that the oil stain on the steps would prevent the traction pads from sticking. It was a huge success. The edges of the pads appear to be secure in this photo. I had made use of a grip-type device. That heart-shaped tile in the same photo had some adhesive on it, but it didn't stick. I applied 3M 94 primer to it and, woo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo It hasn't moved an inch, boo. br>br>Excellent product for when you absolutely, positively, positively need something to stick.

This was a great find
5/5

This was a great find. Someone had given me this product a long time ago, and I had used it up and had no idea where to get another. It's what I use to prepare areas where LEDs are installed on motorcycles so that the LED strips have a better grip. There hasn't been a single report of LEDs breaking.

This isn't going to work
3/5

It not only doesn't work, but it also melts the paint on your car's interior trim. I'm going to throw this out and replace it with glue because it's already causing damage to my trims. Isn't it clear that this isn't going to work? After wrapping complex plastic trim pieces for several hours, the wrap began to bubble up around some curves.

It's amazing how well it works! Check this out, guys: I made an EGA (Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, Marine Corps sign) out of 3M Di-bond for a friend

He used this primer to help keep the Noc Gloss Black carbon fiber from sticking to his motorcycle's air intake. cover that is more clean It looks fantastic, but it did leave a discolored area on the chrome, which was easily cleaned up with some rubbing alcohol. After riding all week in the rain, the edges aren't coming up and the carbon fiber itself is still sealed (I gave it a light coat of primer). When I wrap the tins on my motorcycle, I'm going to use this stuff.

I tried to remove the foam tape for the sake of entertainment
5/5

For years, a piece of trim on my customer's driver's door had been gradually peeling away. Other stores attempted to reattach it with double-sided tape, but it simply peeled away. The trim has been on for over a month now, thanks to 3M foam tape and this stuff. Just for kicks, I tried removing the foam tape from the trim after it had been adhered to it. I ripped the tape in half instead of removing it from the trim with this primer.
