Questions & Answers

The timer does not automatically reset if power is interrupted to the device. Will it continue where it left off if power is restored?

Since the timer is actually set by mechanical dials, if the power goes out, it will return to whatever setting you had previously assigned to it.

Can you describe how loud the click is when this timer turns on and off? There are some timers that can be heard in adjoining ?

The scene is fairly quiet, according to my observations. It is just 5 feet away and there is no wall between them. I am only capable of hearing it when attempting to do so.

The Auger on a pellet stove needs to be turned on and off every 5 seconds. Will this device work with that?

Those are the uses for it, and it works great. I have four as one is for the auger motor for the fan, another is over waste oil to control the solenoid, and the fourth tops off the waste oil to regulate the solenoid every five seconds.

The timer has an amperage rating of how much current it can handle?

It has a rating of 15A,1875W.

There's a chance you think it's damaged beyond repair
3/5

The user interface is not intuitive and instructions are not provided. You can view the video in the posting for instructions on how to use it. No instructions are included and the operation is not intuitive. In order to inverse the controls, 1) you must flip them both backward In a wall socket, 2) Plug in clockwise, 3) Within 5 seconds(! 3) Turn both controls fully clockwise. [an on light will appear at this point] 4) Adjust as desired. In the absence of these steps, the unit will just sit there and not do anything. Even more complicated is an operation done only at night or only during the day. Unless you watch the video, you will not figure that out. One year from now, you'll have a hard time remembering how to do it. Make sure instructions are included! I'm giving this product two stars less than it should be.

This is a great device, but you'll need to use it with care Set the timer for an hour interval
5/5

Take a look! IMMEDIATELY move both dials to maximum after you plug it in for it to go into timer mode. You must connect it to the timer with the dials already set to minimum. It will then remember your preference for whatever device you plug in in the future. It is a good timer once you get past the initial set up. The analog dials are simpler and easier to read at a glance than the digital ones and are also easier to adjust. Additionally, they provide a wide range of time values for use in It's a hydroponic pump in my case. It has a quality warranty and an excellent customer support team.

Choosing modes in this way is a bad idea
3/5

In order to select the desired mode, one must unplug the machine from AC. Each of the three modes requires unplugging, and using the two controls in their best positions in that order is very confusing. You're out of luck if you lose your instructions, as there is no indication of which mode is active. It is the kind of user interface that naive designers create. An example of classic failure to understand fundamental concepts of Intuitive User Interface can be found in the decision to eliminate a three position switch and save one dollar. It is imperative that the user interface is handled by a responsible adult.

After a few days of use, the software stopped working
4/5

Here are some things that are worth knowing In order for the unit to work with the times you set on the dial, you need to "initialize" it. You will not be able to set the times you want because it isn't working out of the box. Defining both values to zero, plugging it in, and moving both dials within a few seconds constitutes zeroing both values. In the instructions, it's very clear that initialization is required, but it's not exactly clear what it is. It failed after several days, which is why it received such a low rating. This is the software I'm using to run a plant cloning setup, which is controlling one 20-way An electric water pump of 10 watts I keep my watch on for 4 minutes, then I take it off for 7 minutes. I noticed that the compressor worked fine on the first day, but on the second day it began stuttering and shaking, just before shutting off the water pump. The timer function lasted for two days before it failed and now it just stays on all the time. As soon as I removed it, I tried to "re-install" No matter what settings I make the timer dials to, when the unit is allowing power to flow through to the outlet power stays on forever. There is a small LED that says "Output on" that indicates when the unit is allowing power to flow through. With my unit, it will light up and then turn off on the intervals I have set on the dial, but even when it is switched off, the outlet continues to receive power. I have updated Century's customer service was great throughout the process, and they kindly gave me a timer as a free gift. This is a four-star rating.

It did not work in any way
3/5

A steaming pile of junk that never worked out. I was asked multiple times by an email form over and over again to retract my review for return of money. They wanted me to remove the review first. I replied that they should send me my money back and that they can remove the The management of this company is shady. Decide to spend your dollars on a company that is best for you.

The timer has been re-evaluated
4/5

This cycle will not move to "on". Initially worked for three months and then sat idle for six months before ceasing to function. The cost of replacing every year is too high. Century has since contacted me and has offered to replace my timer at no charge to me, since I've submitted this review. Compared with the old one, this one seems more accurate and is working well in the settings. The "star" rating was changed for two reasons not only did Century reach out to me even though the warranty had expired, it also demonstrated that they cared about their customers.

Years of searching have led me to this Thank you for posting it
5/5

My search for an intermittent timer has lasted for a long period of time and I was unable to find one until recently. This short cycle timer will automatically stop after three minutes. How did I not know they were known as this? In any case, this product is exactly what I need. This is an antique copper chocolate melter (basically a bain marie or double boiler). The heating elements and thermostat work, but the temperatures/controls are not working. Due to this, the heating elements rage constantly and never stop. This wonderful device worked very well for me after I removed the old control switch, plugged it in and set the on/off cycle to 1 minute on and 10 minutes off (it took a little while to figure out the right cycle). I can maintain the ideal temperature for my melter with this. With this switch, you can set it in infinite combinations of on/off. Solar powered) or 24 hours. The on / off setting can be adjusted easily- By turning a dial, all that is required is your effort. It doesn't matter what you do to digital programming. In addition to buying more of these, I plan on using them in a variety of applications.
