It is a fast and reliable AC voltage tester that I will hopefully add to my toolbox in case of quick RV wiring issues.
1. I like the fact that it looks and feels solid, heavy enough for me to put it in my tool box without worrying about it getting damaged. In my first attempt to use it I was unable to turn it A fresh pair of Duracell batteries has been substituted for the batteries that came with it. A single AC current could not be read by this device, nor could it turn on. It was not possible to turn on the laser light. The replacement was received within a few days after I requested it. Please note 2. The cons are After replacing the batteries on both the original and replacement AC voltage testers, I was unable to get them to work. It did not work when I tried holding the on button for 2,5 and 10 seconds. There was a problem with the product. I will have to return it, and I hope someone else has better success. In the past, I used a different brand without any issues and had high hopes for the one I was using now.
The item was purchased for the purpose of replacing light switches in my house. With the high sensitivity setting, I don't have any issues with false positives or negatives. If the power goes off for any reason, the built-in flashlight comes in handy for working in areas with no electrical power. The material feels pretty sturdy, and surprisingly it is neither super lightweight nor While it's probably not tough enough for daily use and isn't durable enough to take a beating, it feels well made nonetheless. Batteries came with the camera, so that was a plus.
You will find it very easy to figure out when you get used to it. This took almost 4 seconds to do (the whole process was very quick). It is very useful. It's a great tester at a low price. I have purchased several testers from retail stores and all of them were so sensitive that they were In the event they come within a foot of an energized conductor, they will signal. Does the job. That's about it. I've been using a Greenlee NCV meter with a reostat adjustable setting, and the high sensitivity setting is not sensitive enough. An indicator is not provided to indicate which sensitivity mode the meter is currently It seems that the sensitivity fluctuates, regardless of mode, from minute to minute. The laser is not at all clear to me what I need it I guess I could blind the squirrels that gnaw through the wiring of my customers.
Initially, I did not believe that it works great because of its price, but my mistake. It works great, I have changed a lot of outlets and never had any problems. My father received this as a gift after I ordered it again.
