I hear you! Over the years, I've owned many different kinds of vehicles A contact electrical tester such as this They are less expensive and more expensive
5/5

I bought the first one at Home Depot about a year ago. This was my favorite, mostly due to how loud it is! The lighted tip on some brands is barely audible so if you work in a noisy building, you need to look at them. My local Home Depot stopped carrying these right after I bought this so I had to search for this one and was very happy to find one further down the road. Was there a particular reason you were looking for another? As a matter of fact, I tend to misplace small tools quite often, so I have to assume that my first one is If you buy one of these, you won't be disappointed.

Using the product within reason is a good idea
4/5

This type of tester was given to me three times by southwire. The first one did not work (had not been purchased through Amazon). Whenever you use one of these testers, it is recommended that you test them first on an active circuit you know is live, before you use them on a circuit that you need a real result for. It's a good idea. The pain of 110 is great. To date, this tester has given me a couple of false positives, but they are small. It is advisable to exercise caution when dealing with false positives. So far, I have never had a false negative. When you have a false negative, you jump back and scream as you try to shake the buzzing sensation from Tests cannot replace the knowledge you need to know about your product, as they are an integral part of the work you do with it. You do not have to worry about how much it hurts to get zapped since electricians are paid to know just how bad it hurts. You won't be called sparky if you are smart in the way you use this device.

This is a must-have for anyone who works with wiring
5/5

I am impressed by the sensitivity of this device it triggers even when it is on the correct side of a power cord! In addition to what other reviewers have said Ignore the listing. It is utterly inaccurate. In this case, you will buy the 40116N and not the 40150N. ** 2. If you’re patient, you may lose a fingernail when you get the battery compartment open. In spite of this, the device itself is quite useful once you get past the initial inconvenience. If I were to buy it again, I would.

No very sensitive
4/5

This device works, but in order for it to register, it must be in contact with the line being tested. In order for the alarm to go off most of the time, I have to insert the tip into the wall socket. This kind of defeats the purpose of a "non-electric" alarm A voltage detector that is in contact with the ground. Although it's safer and easier to use than a voltmeter for detecting if an outlet is powered or not, it's still not as fast as a voltmeter.

A voltage tester with misleading features has been advertised
3/5

This tester turned out to be a mistake. As I mentioned, I was looking for a low voltage tester, and after reading the description of the 40116N tester, I believed it was such a The 40116N tester was not the way I expected it to be when I received it. When I reread the features, I realized it was for the 40150N dual purpose tester. This is a very misleading feature.

I love it! This program does what it was supposed to do
5/5

My methods of chasing circuits in a house I'm renovating entail using it to chase circuits. You can use it to turn the flashlight on when the power goes out as it's loud, bright, and has a flashlight built in. If you bump up against something like a pen or a pencil on it while it's in your pocket, it starts up. The reason I didn't get one of these sooner is beyond me.

This is one of the best electronic pen testers out there
5/5

It has been a while since I have tried a pen tester brand. The best is by far this one, which is by far the best among Klein, Greenlee, and Milwaukee. This product has an LED light that's very helpful.

A very good signal was received
5/5

Many of the websites I've looked at don't permit direct access Contact voltage testers tend to be unreliable and some are not in sync with the lights and sounds. When voltage is present, this unit flashes red when it is on and is loud when it is off. I found the readings to be very clear. I have found that mine is more sensitive than the rating. It has been able to pick up low voltage coming off of a phone charger or outlet through the faceplate. A plate. Compared to my klein testers, I prefer this much more.
