I love the magnet! It's a little bulky, but it's powerful and has what appears to be a long-lasting rubber housing. br>br>On the other hand, the strap is utter GARBAGE. As soon as I took it out of the bag, it began to fall apart. Given the magnet's excellent quality, this is a huge disappointment. My Fluke T6 was a perfect fit for it.
Klein Tools 69445 Magnetic Hanger Without Strap is the subject of this review. It's been almost two months since I got it, and I've been using it on the Klein Tools CL390 Digital Clamp Meter. I used the meter without the magnet at first, and there was never a convenient place to set it down so that I could see the display while taking readings with the probes. It was like having a third hand when I later bought and used the magnet, which is extremely strong and adheres extremely well. It made using the meter a lot easier. I had no problem scratching or marking up surfaces because the magnet is surrounded by a thick plastic. I strongly advise you to purchase a magnetic hanger for your meter. It makes a significant difference.
I have the CL220, which is a new model, so seeing it listed among the models that this fits surprised me. I assumed I'd have to buy based on the fact that other similar models use the same case and mount. And, as you can see, this is a perfect fit for the CL220. It's a decently powerful magnet. Because it costs more than the magnet that comes with a strap, I thought the price was a little high. I'm going to get that one as well because I want to be able to use both. I did notice a $2 price drop the day after I purchased one. Oh well. This appears to be a fairly common occurrence. In any case, it's a nice addition to the meter, and having an extra hand is always useful.
After comparing the flukes hanger to the klein magnet, I prefer the fluke hanger because of how it is attached. The klein is attached from the bottom, which appears to be the best method, but it isn't snug or secure, and it falls off frequently when not in use. I have to reattach the hanger every time I use it, and the fluke is attached in the opposite direction, and it hasn't fallen off yet. Also, the magnet isn't very powerful. This is something to think about when purchasing a meter and hanger.
I deducted one star for the subpar loop and hook system; upon opening the package and attaching the connector, I hung up my meter on the stove vent hood and it instantly fell from the hook and loops letting go; I remedied this issue by placing a zip tie around where they attach to the strap (PIc); however, I deducted one star for the subpar loop and hook system; upon opening the package and attaching connector, I hung up my meter on the stove vent hood and.
This is in comparison to the magnetic holder that came with my Fluke 87. My klein meter will not stay attached to the side of my refrigerator with this klein holder. It adheres to the surface and then gradually slides down. Although the side of my refrigerator has texture, the fluke is heavier and stays in place as if it were glued on. This magnetic holder and Klein meter are more effective on smoother metal panels.
Strong magnetic hold is something I really like. Feel free to test your strength in the air, as long as you have steel to anchor it to. br>Dislike: It slides on and doesn't lock; I've had it pop off, and it's always a good idea to double-check that it's secure to the meter. Magnet always latches on to other tools in bag (it would be nice if it could fold in on itself when not in use, so it didn't latch on to other tools). br>br>To summarize, it's a great product that I'd buy again if the need arises. Anyone who requires electrical work that does not require their hands is advised to buy this product.
I was curious about the funny bump on the back of the Klein Multimeter when I purchased it. Then I came across this hanging strap and decided to purchase it. It secures itself to the amusing bump. The puzzle has been solved. This has already proven to be a valuable addition to the meter's functionality. The magnet is extremely powerful, allowing for quick and easy attachment to a metal electrical cabinet. Now if only they could figure out a way to attach it to the fiberglass and PVC cabinets. Because the majority of them are metal, this has proven to be an excellent accessory for holding my meter for me the majority of the time.
