Yes, but you'll need the additional clamp on amperage coil for anything other than milliamps. Milliamps can be measured directly; see the YouTube videos for instructions. Dan

BUT! Why does FLUKE ruin everything by including these cheesy TL71 test leads that are completely SH1ttY? You'll have to fight them because they're so abrasive! I'd like to get a set of test leads that are on par with the meter's quality for $450. Also, why don't you include a complete ENGLISH User Manual? Why do I need to rush to my computer to download a PDF that only prints half of an 8-page manual? Is it possible to use a half-sheet of 11-inch by 17-inch paper? FLUKE, please put together a package that matches your reputation and price point. I'm not opposed to paying top dollar for a high-quality item, but when I open the box, I expect it to be complete and usable! Aside from these obvious and cheap flaws by FLUKE, it's a fantastic multimeter.
After separating from the USAF as a computer technician in 1989, I purchased a Fluke 77 original model, which has served me well for 40 years, with the exception that the LCD had to be replaced because the contrast was too light at the time. Returning to electronics and radio, I decided to upgrade to a unit with capacitance testing capability, and settled on this 87v unit, which I am very pleased with. I still troubleshoot with my old Fluke 77, but I'm glad to have the new 87v, which appears to be built with the same quality and attention to detail. The importance of having a primary and backup system (duplexed systems) was instilled in me during my time in the United States Air Force.
For work, I use a Fluke 337A clamp meter and an 87V DMM. This kit was the best deal for me because I bought it for myself and don't require DC amp readings. The Lo- Due to phase converters, the pass filter is the primary reason I use this unit for work. I'm not sure if the 87V is necessary for my needs, but I tinker with almost everything. While comparing the costs of other units for my own use, I decided to go ahead and purchase a Fluke. Every year, the calibration of my work unit is performed. When it was purchased new, it was "as found" in calibration and has never been found out of calibration in the last 5 years. It's made in the United States, though I'm guessing it contains some foreign components.
You don't have to say anything else. I had an 87-year-old Fluke. 3 in the office I needed a meter for my own use, so I purchased the Fluke 87-100. br>br>I was not let down. I got exactly what I wanted.
This is a fantastic meter that works well and is made in the United States of America. You'll have to pay a premium for the lifetime warranty.
Fluke is known for producing high-quality products. These are what we use at work at a power plant, and we bought one for home. Though I'm not sure why Fluke doesn't include the TwistGuard leads as a standard feature.
When I needed a multimeter for my motorhome and other projects around the house, I went with Fluke because of the company's reputation and the instruments' performance. I'm not an expert at troubleshooting electrical issues, so I wanted the most accurate and dependable meter I could find. This unit does not let you down. I'm sure I could have gotten by with a less expensive meter if I'd known how to account for any of the not-so-small variations in the not-so-small variances in the not-so-small variances in the not-so-small variances in the not-so-small accurate readings, but decided that the Fluke's true, reliable readings were worth the extra money. Through Fluke's rebate program, I also received a nice promotional gift (IR Temp probe), making an already good deal even better. This meter deserves a lot of credit!.
As previously stated, I owned and used an original 87 for many years. This meter performs similarly to the previous one. The quality has not deteriorated, which is why I placed the greenbacks on the table. For a professional, you can't afford to scrimp on this type of gear; otherwise, you'll die. If you're into electronics and only have room for one good purchase, this is it. You can fix a lot of things if you have a good meter, some theory, and some experience. Because this meter is so much better, I don't even want to use a 77 model.
