It runs on a 9-volt battery. You'll need to unscrew two screws on the back and replace the battery in the same manner as you removed the housing.
Yes. It has the ability to perform cap testing. No issue. My issue is that it only lasted about a year before it started throwing wild numbers at me. It's not something I'd go out of my way to buy.
It is. However, only up to the age of forty is permitted.
Fieldpiece is the same way with everything else. They'll tell you to take it to the vendor where you bought it, and if you tell them it was from Amazon, they'll tell you there's no warranty on Amazon inventory.

This meter is primarily used for hvac, but it can also be used for regular residential electrical work. It's simply a simple meter to operate. The backside magnet is fantastic. A magnet should be included in every meter, but many high-priced meters are missing one. It's also small, which makes it ideal for storing in a tool bag. This is the best meter I've ever had for everyday use. It does everything 95% of people need a multimeter to do what they need a multimeter to do what they need a multimeter to do% It was a good investment.
Continuity doesn't always tone through closed switches, as if the battery power isn't quite enough, so I use my giant Fluke brick for sure grinding, but aside from that, this meter is perfect for almost every task. I like how the back has a magnet and how simple it is. To be honest, I have a favorite multimeter. Particularly useful for air conditioning work.
You're not going to be let down. Despite being a skeptic, I am extremely pleased with my purchase. This is the most accurate meter I've ever used. The size is incredible, and the features are extensive; I wish I had purchased it sooner.
This is a fantastic little meter! It just arrived today, and it's incredibly small, with a built-in magnet. 100% strong recommendation Stop wasting time and purchase it right away.
This is a nice meter that came from a larger (sc68, I believe?) meter. )br>br>Does everything I need it to do; smaller package is easier to handle. br>br>Took a star off because the probes are a pain to use; there's no cutout to store them on the back of the meter like my old one, and I'm not a fan of removing the probes to use the K thermocouple. This was supposed to be its own ckt.
My previous one served me well for over three years before the amp clamp failed. Everything else on the meter is still working fine, but in the hvac field, I require an amp clamp. So I went out and bought another one of these meters, and I'm very pleased with it. They are extremely accurate and continue to be so. The other one had served me well for three years, and the only reason I replaced it was because the amp clamp had failed. The meter continues to read as accurately as when it was first installed. For all of my HVAC needs, I only use Fieldpiece.
For a while, it worked well, but after a few months, the numbers began to fluctuate. The majority of my temperature readings begin in the upper 500s. This is not a trustworthy source. It's something I wish were true. I like the company, but I didn't get anywhere with this.
Cool for an HVAC tech, very compact, and I've been pleased with them thus far.
