Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use it on a dining room chandelier?

If your dining room chandelier isn't hard-wired to a ceiling box, you're out of luck. br>This dimmer is a LINE dimmer - it dims the lights in a straight line. To put it another way, you plug your lamp into the cord's outlet before plugging the cord into the wall.

Is this dimmer compatible with a set of three puck lights that plug into the wall?

I hope this has provided you with a satisfactory response to your query. I connect the lamp plug to the dimmer directly, then plug the dimmer plug into an electrical unit with about eight plugs. Now, if you're wondering if the dimmer will work on a lamp with three or four lights, the answer is I'm not sure, but it probably will. I don't think it would work plugged into an extension cord with three or four different light fixtures connected to dim them all at once.

Will this dimmer work with a 150 LED bulb that doesn't flicker when the brightness is changed?

Incandescent and LED bulbs are both compatible with the dimmer. Depending on the type of LED you use, a 150 watt LED might or might not flicker. br>With best wishes,br>TopGreener Inc,

Is this certified by the Underwriters' Laboratories (UL)?

On the bottom of the plug, there is a UL stamp. China is the country of origin for this product. I'm not sure if this indicates that it has been accepted.

It is both convenient and cost effective
5/5

It's ready to use once you've plugged it in. I thought I'd have 6 feet plus the length of the lamp's cord to place the dimmer when I bought it because it had a 6 foot cord. That's not how it works - The lamp is essentially plugged into a wall outlet, but this item is sandwiched in between. As a result, the dimmer is six feet away from the outlet. We don't have a problem with it, and it's probably obvious to everyone else as well, but I thought I'd bring it up. Of course, you'll need a dimmable bulb, which aren't cheap (I paid $7 for an LED equivalent of 100 watts). However, this option is much less costly than re-wiring. It's a lot less expensive than hiring an electrician to install the wiring.

Lights will flicker as a result of this!   Because of all the positive reviews, I had high hopes for this, but it's making my lights flicker
3/5

I tried connecting it to a different light and got the same result; I'm not sure if I have a lemon or not, but this is extremely inconvenient! The dimmer switch is not in my hands. This is only when the light level is set to about half of what it should be. This isn't a one-time occurrence. stop, but it appears to be flickering about a quarter of the time.

Units do not last long; after about six months, they begin to fail
3/5

I've had a few of these, and they work fine for about six months before the lamp starts to flicker, regardless of the slide setting, especially in the middle brightness range. The flickering problem worsens over time, until the dimmer becomes useless because the flickering is no longer bothersome. I've purchased a few, and they've all developed the same problem over time. I've experimented with incandescent lamps as well as LEDs. Units are of poor quality. I'd buy other brands of dimmers, but I don't need anything fancy like a wall-mounted or remote-controlled dimmer; all I need is a simple slide or knob type portable dimmer. I can move it from one lamp to the next because it is portable.

Either full brightness or low brightness is available
3/5

On LED patio lights, there is no middle ground. I was able to connect them. The lights were blindingly bright when I turned it on. I shifted the control to the dim side and nothing happened until I got to the end, just as they were about to turn off, and then they went to kind of dim. The light string is made up of 2 watt led bulbs. According to the description, they can be dimmed. It appears to be functional. It could be the string of bulbs. I needed a different LED dimmer, so I purchased one. If it works, I'll leave it at that. If the second dimmer fails, I'll rescind this one and go over the string of led bulbs again.

I was hoping for a better outcome
3/5

In theory, it's fantastic, but the flicker is unbearable. My dimmable led lights have this problem on a regular basis at all brightness levels. I wanted to be able to adjust the lights depending on the time of day because I was using a floor lamp next to my desk. Other dimmers I've used have occasionally caused flickering at lower dim levels, but this one does so at low, medium, and maximum brightness. When it works, it's great, but when it doesn't, it's a pain. This happens quite frequently.

This is ideal for my home
5/5

lamps for the room! These would be ideal for my home. lamps for the living room I ordered one to see if I liked it, and then I ordered another because I liked it so much. In general, my lamps are too high in comparison to where people are sitting, and the exposed lightbulbs are too bright - The dimmer, on the other hand, dims it to the level of gentleness I desire without being obtrusive. This book comes highly recommended. NOTE: I've never been able to get an LED lightbulb to work with a dimmer, so my lamps use standard bulbs.

The temperature rises quickly
3/5

This product is potentially hazardous because it becomes extremely hot and stops working. There are no holes to allow the heat to escape; it is completely sealed! br>br>I don't want to return to a house that's on fire. The item is being returned.

I bought this product to use with an LED bulb in a floor lamp that didn't have a built-in dimmer, and it works great until it doesn't
3/5

It appears to have quality issues. The product worked perfectly for about three months before the lamp stopped turning on when the dimmer was turned on. When I contacted TopGreener, they informed me that the dimmer would be covered under warranty, so I returned it. I waited three weeks for a replacement dimmer to arrive, only to find that it did not work at all right away. I'm not going to bother sending it back because I'm sure I'll get another defective product.
