Questions & Answers

The hot, neutral, and ground wires in my box are split into two groups. Is this switch going to function properly? If that's the case, what's the set-up like?

Yes. If you use your multimeter to test those two sets of wires, one of the black wires will almost certainly be turned on and off by the current light switch. If that's the case, join that black wire to the red wire of this switch. Connect the hot black wire to the black wire of this switch, and the three white wires to each other. All three ground wires should be connected at the same time.

Is it possible for a cat to activate this switch if it's installed at standard switch height?

Yes. A gigantic cat can turn it on.

Is there a way to install it with a second swirch for a bathroom vent?

You could put one on the bathroom's vent fan switch and another in a dual wall plate that's connected to the lights. Alternatively, you could connect both switches to a single one.

Is there a wall plate that comes with it?

I can't remember if they do or not. Deco wall plates, on the other hand, are inexpensive and can be found in any hardware store. Because I work as an electrician, I always have a few boxes of ten plates in my truck. So, just in case they didn't, I grabbed a few more to use with the switches.

It does exactly what I wanted it to do
5/5

I needed a sensor that would turn on the lights as soon as I walked into our garage, stay on for as long as I was there, turn off a few minutes after I left, and then turn on again even if I walked in 1 second after they had turned off automatically. When I first tried the TOPGREENER TDOS5 sensor, I spent hours trying to get it to turn back on after it had turned off by itself. I could have gotten a bad batch, but I'm guessing it was bad design. If the timer was set for 30 minutes, the lights would not turn back on until 30 minutes had passed since they were turned off. It's a real pain. br>I then ordered this Ecoeler sensor, which was $4 cheaper, and it works EXACTLY as I expected. Win- Win. br>To be fair, there were a few issues with the setup: the ambient light detector was too sensitive for my needs, and the lights wouldn't turn on even when there was a small amount of light in the garage. I thought that turning the light adjustment CCW would give me the least amount of sensitivity. To disable the light sensor, you must turn the pot fully clockwise to "5", according to the instructions. Because they made me read the instructions, I almost got a one-star deduction! The range adjustment problem was the second issue. I need the sensor to detect someone as soon as they walk through the door, so it's right next to it. To do that reliably, I had to reduce the range to the bare minimum (CCW). I can live with the fact that the maximum reliable detection range is now only about 15 feet. Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase!.

This is a sensor switch with a lot of features
5/5

This has all of the features that I look for in a non-dimmable motion sensor light control switch. It can be used in any single-gang outlet. It has a light detection setting that allows you to set the reduced light level at which you want it to begin working, which is simple to use and effective. It has a motion detection setting that allows you to customize the range at which the sensor will turn on the light. It's a good idea to set it up so that it doesn't get activated by movement in the vicinity. br>br>It has a setting for how long it will stay on once no more movement is detected, which ranges from 15 seconds to 30 minutes and works fine. br>br>There is a green led that flickers when it detects motion. br>br> br>br>The switch can be turned on and off manually, but the light will still turn off when the timer for movement detection is reached. br>br>It is well-made and appears to be of good quality. br>br>I have installed several motion sensor light switches and this is one of the best for the money; I highly recommend it. br>br>I have a lot of experience as an electrician. br>br>J W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W W.

I'm so happy I did
5/5

These are the two that I bought. One is in my pantry, and the lights turn on when we open the door and put my arm inside. The timer is set to turn off in 5 seconds. I could extend it, but you're usually moving in the pantry, so it'll stay on and then turn off when you close the door. Life has become a lot less difficult. br>The second one went in the basement bathroom because the switches were next to the mirror instead of the door, which is what you'd expect. I also connected the fan to the switch, which resulted in the blank spot, which was filled in with a blank filler purchased elsewhere. The timer on this device is set to approximately 5 minutes. After that, if someone leaves, it will automatically shut down. br>The green light indicates that movement is being detected. If you wish, you can turn the lights on or off by pushing the lower portion of the switch (where the green light is). It gives you time to get away when you turn it off, so the lights don't come back on right away. br>The pantry one was simple to put together, but the bathroom one took a little more time. I'm glad I took the initiative to do this. It's far superior to those multi-level marketing campaigns. Alternative whole-light solutions for a few hundred dollars.

THE LIGHT IS UNABLE TO BE TURNED OFF
3/5

NOT TO BE ACCEPTED. Faulty. Faulty. Faulty. br> At first, the light would turn on at random. I changed it to manual light on and off after the fourth or fifth time. br>I've been in manual on/off mode for about three weeks and haven't had any problems. The lights were left on indefinitely. They will not turn off regardless of what I do. I'm on my third day without turning off the lights. I even went so far as to turn off the circuit breaker. The lights turn off, but when you turn the breaker back on, they come back on. It will be two days before the electrician arrives. br>I'd like to express my gratitude to this company for the beautiful electric bill we'll be receiving soon. Yes, I know I could simply unscrew the light bulbs, but they've been on for DAYS and are too high for me to reach. THIS SHOULDN'T HAVE HAPPENED IN THE FIRST PLACE, in my opinion. A disgruntled client.

Pass the test with difficulty
3/5

A few months ago, I installed four of these all at once. It was extremely simple to set up. For about 30 days, everything worked as expected. Then, one by one, they began to have their own thoughts. Randomly turning on and off. Pantry, laundry, under-the-stairs storage, and garage are all good places to put them. There aren't any areas with a lot of traffic. It was easy to see them turning on and off under the door late at night. At first, you could simply push the button to turn off the light. However, after a short time, pressing the button only turned them off for about 2 seconds. They wouldn't turn off at all in the end. All four of them had to be replaced. This item is a hard pass for me because I expected one or two to be defective, but all four were.

It's exactly what I wanted and does everything it says it will
5/5

It performs exactly as it should. I found a handy little way to adjust the dials so you don't have to go searching for a screwdriver that fits these because you will find that the sensor's are a little bit sensitive after you first install them, and it will take time to adjust them, just like I have found with most other motion sensor's, and you will probably have to do it quite often at first. Originally I got these to put in where the ceiling fan switch is in our bathrooms because the kids were constantly kicking the ceiling fan I've now switched these to vacation mode, where the sensor timer sensor takes over and turns them off after a set amount of time after turning them on manually, which was not the original intent for these but still solves our problem. When I turned off the vacation mode, everyone was annoyed because the ceiling fans would turn on every time they went into the bathroom; however, when the vacation mode is turned on, the ceiling fans work like a timer, so the ceiling fan problem is no longer an issue.
