The instructions that come with the smart plug are for a different model with different controls and indicators. Even though I have a strong background in electrical engineering and information technology, I can't seem to get this thing to pair. I got the app to see the plug twice, but it failed to "add" the device both times because it provided no feedback other than a progress bar (with no indication of what the progress bar was for). br>br>So this is a power switch-equipped waterproof dumb outlet. It doesn't work with Alexa or Google because the app is terrible, and who knows if it will be available in a month. If you're looking for a smart plug, look elsewhere. This thing isn't worth the agony it will cause you. If you want a dumb plug with a switch, go for a less expensive option. This is the game to play if you want to waste an hour doing nothing.
Outdoor use is strictly limited. Only works at a temperature of 14 degrees Fahrenheit. Setup is a breeze. Over a long distance, Wifi was connected. This is a fantastic application. The operating temperature range isn't specified on Amazon, which is a disadvantage. It's - The temperature ranges from 14 to 60 degrees Celsius. That is 14 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit when converted. br>I had hoped to be able to manage my Dock de-installation. With it, it'll be even icer. The unit went off line as soon as the temperature dropped below freezing, and I'm hoping it's still supplying power to the de-icer. I can't check on it because I'm not in the area, and it's bitterly cold. The operating range of 14F as a low end is simply too high for mid-range applications. outdoor applications in the west If they can improve on that (say, by 30 degrees Fahrenheit), this unit will be incredible. I was able to program it to turn on when the temperature dropped below 32 degrees and there was a wind speed of less than 1 mile per hour (it gets wind speed from the local weather forecast on the internet). For a wide range of devices, all kinds of parameters can be programmed. The app is simple to use and has a lot of power. With an alert and message, it even informed me that the device had gone "off line. " However, due to the limited operating temperature range in the outdoor environment, - It isn't going to work for me.
I'm connected to a one. Above-mentioned Pentair 5hp 15A Filter motor for swimming pool in the ground. Because my phone switched wifi networks during the pairing process, it took a few tries. Control and scheduling were simple once the systems were linked together. br>br>Recent changes: br>br> I've been using the pool pump on a regular basis as well as on an ad-hoc basis. ad hoc use, and it has always been turned on and off instantly via the app control It appears to be a sturdy little unit, as it has survived several torrential rainstorms.
To control our outdoor summer lights, we needed a simple switch. They plug into a difficult-to-reach location, so I needed something WiFi-enabled that I could use with Amazon Alexa to turn on and off remotely, as well as something that could be used outside and was weatherproof. br>While this small plug does not provide much additional stretch or extension, it suffices for our purposes. br>Setting it up was a bit of a pain; We followed the instructions for downloading and connecting the app, but it took several attempts using the Trouble Shooting suggestions and then going back to the basics before it finally worked. We did eventually move the plug inside closer to the router, but it still took several tries, and I'm not sure if that made a difference. We were able to set it up the same night and did not have to contact anyone. We got there in the end after about 15 tries of doing the same thing over and over. That's something I'm glad we did! br>Now we can turn on and off the outside lights from the kitchen with a voice command, and it's super simple and seamless. I believe it was a good value for the money, and I would recommend it and purchase it again if the need arose. Just don't expect it to be 100% bug-free. You will not be disappointed if you use it right out of the box. br>It's things like this that make Alexa worthwhile to own!.
I purchased the HBN Heavy Duty Wi-Fi Access Point. When attempting to activate the HBN Heavy Duty Wi-Fi Timer with a Fi Timer and a meross timer, they were unaware that the HBN timer was a different brand. br>br>When attempting to activate the HBN Heavy Duty Wi-Fi Timer with a Fi Timer and a meross timer, they were unaware that the HBN timer was a different brand. Fi Timer did not work with the Mesos Timer App. br>br>I returned the HBN timer with the false and unfair claim that it was broken. br>br>Thanks to a courteous and patient letter from HBN, I've realized and apologized for my mistake, and I'll reorder the HBN timer as soon as I get back. br>br>From what I could tell, the HBN timer was built to be tough and simple to use.
Tasmota OTA flashing is not possible with updated tuya software. Serial flashing is still possible, but it will necessitate a deft touch with the soldering iron. The TX and RX chips have almost no solder, so you'll need to add some to connect wires, and that could be all it takes for an inexperienced hand to detach pads, burn circuits, and so on. Not that I'd know anything about it. In any case, a successful serial flash will get you Tasmota and a much more useful, out of the Chinese cloud, relatively inexpensive smart outlet.
I love that I don't have to fiddle with my timers to get all of my lights to turn on at the same time anymore! I bought one at first and ended up buying a second because I loved it so much! I set up a schedule through the smart life app and everything happens at the same time! My children also enjoy being able to ask Alexa to turn on the outside lights.
