Questions & Answers

What is the distinction between dvcl- and dvcl? 153p as well as dvwcl- 153p?

If this is the same switch as the DVCL, my Cree LED bulbs (SA19-1) will not work. 08127MDFD is a telephone number in the United States. According to Cree, ) should not buzz. They are, however, successful. Ug. All of this compatibility nonsense is a real pain. A standard must be developed by the industry.

Will Phillips bulbs work with this?

I'm sure I'm too late for you, but I'll say it anyway. I recently bought a Lutron Diva C. and 8 Phillips Clear G25 LED bulbs for our master bath vanity, both of which were installed yesterday and work perfectly. I'm going to buy another one for the other bathroom because it's so good.

When you dim the light, does the dimmer switch make a noise?

No, they are deafeningly quiet. When I used older model incandescent dimmers, I had similar issues with the lights buzzing (I have LED lights). So far, I've purchased two of these and am pleased with them.

Design flaws, with dimming options that are severely limited
3/5

To dim LED track lighting, I purchased this dimmer. It functions properly, with no flickering or other issues, but it does have a toggle switch behind the wall cover plate for adjusting the dimming range. Then, using the vertical slide on the switch's exterior, you can adjust the dimming. This is only a very small amount of dimming, and it's only within the range set by the hidden toggle switch. For instance, if you set the concealed switch to its brightest setting, I would estimate that the dimming range is adjustable from about 70% to 90 of the brightness range of the% Remove the wall cover plate, adjust the range downward, and replace the cover plate if you want the light level to be lower. Repeat for a more intense dimming effect - It's completely absurd. I searched for "full range dimmers" on Amazon and discovered another product that was a few dollars cheaper and worked much better. The instructions state that the dimming range is 10% to 100%, which appears to be correct - and there's no way to dim the lights from within. A superior product is: Dimmer Switch for 150W Dimmable LED and Dimmable CFL Lights, as well as 600W Halogen Lights Single-ended 120V AV 60Hz incandescent bulbs DS01 DS01 DS01 DS01 DS01 DS01 DS01 SA1A.

Beware: These aren't trailing dimmers at all

Purchases of multiples are not recommended

You Might Eat the Cost of Lutron's Poor QA If You Buy Packs of This Item on Amazon. One of the three dimmers didn't work right away. It wouldn't work after I installed it. With the switch in the "on" position, a multimeter confirmed that there was no continuity. The third and fourth switches in the three-pack are operational. br>br>On the whole, the Lutron Diva is a great tunable dimmer. The product itself receives a four-star rating from me. The switch is compatible with the rest of the Diva-style switches. The dimmer works smoothly and can be tuned from the front, with the switch screwed into the box, and the series paddle switches are visually appealing. The tuning range is excellent, and I have yet to encounter a dimmable bulb with which it does not work well. My only criticism is that it is quite large (it extends to 1. 5" from the faceplate across the switch's entire width and height) and includes an extra wire for a three-way switch. I find the two-way setup to be inconvenient for most two-person scenarios. installations of way switches With three of these in a three-person group, it's possible to make a three-person It's a tight fit in the gang box, and the extra wire that needs to be nutted off separately adds to the problem. I'd prefer if Lutron offered two and three-way versions of the product; I've never had a problem with a Diva that worked right out of the box, and they seem to last a long time. br>br>I'm having two problems with this purchase, one with Amazon and the other with Lutron. Lutron is shipping switches that fail a basic continuity test, implying a low quality assurance standard, possibly just a visual inspection. This seems incongruent with the product's price; if you were getting bad switches in from time to time from a bargain-basement source, I'd be concerned. I could live with it if it were a basement model, but if it were a Chinese-style model, I wouldn't. Despite the fact that it's one of the nicer and more expensive residential switches on the market, you'd expect it to bat a lot higher than 0. My second issue is with Amazon, which costs $667. Once I discovered the defective switch, I had the option of returning the entire multipack and missing my deadline for completing this installation, or sucking it up and bearing the cost of the defective switch. I had no choice but to do the latter. Amazon doesn't have a way to replace a single defective item in a multipack, and the switches are clearly marked as part of a multipack, so you can't return it as a single item. I'll try to contact Lutron again, and if that doesn't work, I'll update this review. However, because this switch appears to receive no meaningful QA from Lutron, and Amazon does not offer a way to return one of the three, I am giving this item a negative rating and strongly advising any potential buyers to either buy these one at a time, or buy the 3-pack. Locally, purchase a pack from a retailer that allows for individual switch returns or exchanges.

The switch is in the wrong position
3/5

If you install the, you will be able to access the. The switch is in the wrong position. The dimmer will be upside down if the switch is installed so that the rocker is off when pressed on the bottom, which means you'll have to slide the bar down to brighten the light. If you want the dimming to work as expected (up is brighter), you'll have to turn it on by pressing the rocker switch in the opposite direction it's supposed to be off.

This is an excellent dimmer
5/5

These dimmers were purchased in pairs. A single pole (single fixture) uses one. situation - there is only one switch that controls it) The other is used in a three-pole configuration (one light fixture controlled by two separate switches). This dimmer, according to one reviewer, requires a neutral wire. Because of the review, I almost didn't buy it. This dimmer does not require or utilize neutral wires. You can, however, do so with some Lutron dimmers. For the single pole, there are two black wires and one ground wire. For the three-pole connector, there are two black wires, one red wire, and one ground wire. Only in the case of a three-pole system: Before you disconnect the HOT black wire from your old switch, make sure to mark it with tape (the HOT black wire is the black wire that is connected to a colored screw, which means it is a different color than the other remaining screws). The instructions that came with the package were very clear and simple to follow. In both of these cases, I'm using Luxon Edison LED DIMMABLE 2700K light bulbs. Eight of those bulbs are used in a single fixture - Three of those bulbs are used in another fixture. The bulbs and dimmer work perfectly together in BOTH situations - There was no humming, flickering, or noise. I have no trouble dimming the bulbs from zero to high. There was nothing more I could have asked for.

For led lighting, this is a fantastic switch
5/5

Finally. There isn't any flickering or noise. a candelabra light with six bulbs The electrician installed a terrible switch. The bulbs would go out as the dimming level dropped. Always had issues with flickering or wouldn't turn on at all n. It was also annoying because of the buzzing. Basically a waste of time. Put this in and it'll work like a charm. Dims to an extremely low level of illumination. No noise.
