Questions & Answers

How much power does the timer consume on its own? How much energy does it consume?

On the unit, it doesn't say. Due to the fact that it is digital rather than mechanical, it is unlikely to be much. The outlet has a 115V, 60 Hz, 15A/1725W rating.

Hello, I previously purchased this timer, but now I see that it requires 115 volts to operate. I tried it with 220 volts and it seemed to work? Is it possible to use 220v for long periods of time?

You can't plug into 220 because the plugs are completely different. Due to the difference in the number of hot leads (115 vs. 220), it appears that more trolling for responses is required.

Is it possible to program these timers to run for three hours? After 4 days, do you turn it off? Thanks?

Yes, it most certainly can! These timers are convenient because you can set them to turn on or off on whatever day or days of the week you want. So, in your case, you could set the timer to turn on Monday morning at 6 a.m. and stay on until Thursday morning at 6 a.m. You can also set it to turn on your products every day, every other day, or multiple times in a single day. They are very simple to program, which is great because the first timers I purchased were difficult to program, and I simply discarded them because these are so much better!

Are these quiet after a long period of use? Mine, which are mechanical, start making loud noises after a few months. This is extremely aggravating. ?

My Century 7 timers have never been used before. I've never heard them make any loud noises. Despite their size, they are fantastic, easy to program, and have proven to be dependable thus far. I gave them as gifts and arranged for them to be delivered to someone I know. For my friend, they are effective.

It's fantastic! That's what I'm talking about when it comes to providing excellent customer service
5/5

It's fantastic! I purchased two of these 2-packs. After a few hours of use, one of these units was found to be defective. The unit's on/off switch had become stuck in the off position. When I dialed the customer service number, I got a LIVE HUMAN on the other end of the line, who was extremely courteous. She instructed me to try a few things over the phone to see if we could get the unit back up and running. She took down my information and sent me a new unit, which arrived in about a week, after we couldn't fix it over the phone. She emailed me to follow up, and everything is now fine. This unit works very quietly, and my dog no longer freaks out when the old mechanical timers I had would click on and off. br>br>By the way, this unit works very quietly, and when the old mechanical timers I had would click on and off, my dog no longer freaked out. This product is well-liked by my dog.

Details, Advantages, and Disadvantages 7-Day Heavy-Duty Digital Programmable Timer by LINK Average Customer Reviews: This timer has received excellent reviews, with an average rating of 5 stars
5/5

A few people gave it a low rating because they couldn't figure out what each button did and instead just pushed them. Advantages: br>br> Having a USB adapter will allow you to use this device anywhere * The instructions are easy to read or watch online The device is very easy to set, has an internal battery and must operate during power outages or brief interruptions * The battery does not require replaceable. br>The timer is not as small as some mechanical unitsbr>It is not water proof and cannot be used outside without protectionbr>The timer has many buttons that make it appear daunting to use at first, but each button is labeled and once you understand what they are for, it is logical and easy to usebr>Not as simple to program as a mechanical unit for people with no experience in electronic devicesbr>br>Summary: This timer works well, is simple to program, has a wide range of days and times for use, is durable, and can be taken on cruises, vacations, RV trips, and so on. The internal battery keeps the time and date even when the device is unplugged or when there is a power outage. The timer is about the size of an adult male's fist, and it can be used to protect your home from burglars while you're away on vacation, to prevent overcharging batteries in cell phones, to control the lighting in your fish tank, or even to control the automatic door to your chicken coop. For months, I've been using this timer. One timer is used to clean the dust and pollen out of my room air filter, while the other is used to recharge my cell phone hotspot throughout the day so that the battery does not overheat. The timer has worked flawlessly, and the only reason I can think of why some people had trouble with it is that they may have misunderstood the words used to indicate screen status with the words used to indicate button use. The timer has three settings, all of which are activated by pressing the lower right button as shown: "ON," "AUTO," and "OFF" are the three modes of operation. The words "ON," "AUTO," and "OFF" written beneath the menu screen do not refer to the buttons; rather, they serve to emphasize that the screen above each word will display the status "ON," "AUTO," or "OFF," making it easy to read. None of the buttons have these three words in the center. The function of each button is described below it, rather than above it. br>br>Conclusion: I highly recommend this unit because it is enjoyable to use. This is the timer to get if you want a programmable one. br>br>Amazon has a great deal on this item, and there are plenty of them in stock for fast delivery.

Microprint and illogical buttons must be deciphered
3/5

It has three buttons: one that says "on," another that says "auto," and a third that says "off. " Then there's a button that says "on/auto/off. " It has seven buttons in total, but ten labels. That should give you an idea of how difficult it is to program these tiny computers. I work with a lot of software and tech hardware, but these are a nightmare to design. You spend a lot of time at the outlet on your knees, squinting at small gray LCD text and repeatedly pressing buttons. I've reverted to the old-fashioned way of doing things. timers that have a dial and a pull-string a set of keys for each half-hour hour.

I've been using these for a few months and like how they can be programmed in a variety of ways
4/5

I've been using these for a few months now and like how each day can be programmed differently if desired. When it comes to setting up lights while you're away from home, this is a huge plus. I gave it four stars instead of five because I believe the programming could be more efficient. Programming these is a little difficult and time consuming, but the online video is very helpful. I had to repeat the process several times before I got everything exactly how I wanted it. The random button is one of my favorite features. As a result, the length of time the lights are on varies slightly. It's harder to tell if you're going to be absent. I keep one of them on all the time so I never have to wonder if I turned on a light when I get home late at night. A light is on in the house at all times. Some may argue that doing this with online technology is preferable, but at the very least, these cannot be hacked. So far, I'm very pleased with them and would purchase them again. It is advantageous to be able to plug two items into each unit. When both items are plugged into the same unit, they run on the same program. It is not possible to program them independently. For separate program capabilities, you'll need to use a different unit.

I just went through the setup process a second time to make sure I was doing everything correctly, and it still doesn't turn on and off at the scheduled time
3/5

The time of day and week were correct, but my lamp turned on immediately after I plugged it in, which should not have happened for another 3 hours. The unit also does not turn off at the correct time, either staying on for hours past the shutoff time or stopping and starting again. I double-checked that I wasn't pressing the "random" button, so I'm stumped as to how my two timers could be so useless in the face of so many positive reviews. Perhaps it would work better if I didn't need different times on different days, but that is why I purchased these in the first place. It was disappointing.

It's not difficult to program and it's dependable
5/5

I've got these plugged in and ready to go. They've been working perfectly as wall sconces in my bedroom. They were described as difficult to program in a few reviews, but my husband and I had no trouble with them. As I read him the instructions, he pushed the buttons. br>br>We enjoy the fact that we can customize them to our liking. At 6 a. m. , my husband's alarm clock goes off. 30 am and stays on for about 5 minutes while he gathers his belongings, then shuts off about a minute after he exits the room, allowing me to continue sleeping soundly! At 7 a. m. , mine comes on. Because I tend to go in and out of the room more while getting ready, I set the timer for 15 minutes and it stays on for an hour. Then, at 4 p. m. , they're both on. 30 p. m. ; 9 p. m. ; 30 p. m. ; 30 30pm.
