Questions & Answers

Is it just me, or is anyone else having trouble connecting to the app? Is it possible for you to provide me with some pointers?

One of the most significant drawbacks of these plugs is that they can only be connected to your router within 6 feet. While a little annoying at first, once you understand it, it's not so bad, and the manufacturer recommends placing the plug and your phone (or tablet) as close as possible to the router. So gather your belongings and make your way to the room where your router is located. br>Stand in the middle of your router and the outlet you're using. If your router has a power outlet, that's ideal.br>br>These instructions are for the iOS app. However, the Android app should be designed in a similar manner. 1. br>br> Turn on a lamp that you have plugged into the outlet you'll be using. Then unplug it but do not turn it off.
2. Connect an Aoycocr device to the outlet and then to the lamp. It is necessary to turn on the light. Press the power switch on the plug to turn it on if it isn't already turned on. The lamp should now be turned on after it turns blue. If not, follow the instructions in your device's manual and hold the power button down for 10 seconds. You can count Mississippis or use the second hand on your watch: Mississippi 1, Mississippi 2, Mississippi 3, Mississippi 4, Mississippi 5, Mississippi 6, Mississippi 7, Mississippi 8, Mississippi 9, Mississippi 10, Mississippi 11, Mississippi 12, Mississippi 13, Mississippi The power button should be depressed. After that, hold it down for 5 seconds. The device will be reset as a result of this action.br>br>Note: Otherwise, the app will be unable to locate your new devices if the power button is not blue. 3. br>br>4. br>br>5. br>br>6. Open the Smart Life app on your smartphone or tablet.
4. To add a new device, tap in the top right corner, then select the type of device you want to add: br>5. Socket (also known as a plug or a switch) br>6. The app will begin looking for a new device. It should allow you to name it once it has been discovered. Smart socket is the default setting. This is a good time to come up with a clever name. Renaming it later can be a pain.
7. You must first enable Alexa's skill in order for these plugs to work with her. Open the Alexa app, go to Settings, then Skills, and search for Smart Life in the search box. This skill should be enabled. After that, use your Alexa app to add the new device. (I completed this step after placing the plugs where I desired.) They must be plugged into an outlet, and whatever you are plugging into it must be turned on.
8. To access Siri, go to the app's bottom and select Smart. Then select Add to Siri and follow the on-screen instructions.

Will Alexa be able to control the smart plugs? What is the procedure for enabling?

Sure, Alexa works great with the smart plugs, and they're also Google Assistant and IFTTT compatible. After you've configured the smart plugs, open the Alexa app, search for "smart life" in the skills menu, and enable it. Then sign in to your smart life account to complete the account linking. Alexa will discover your connected smart plugs after you've completed the account linking process, and you can now simply ask Alexa to control them.

At first, I was skeptical - This is no longer true! I bought a four-pack of these and was a little skeptical at first because I had previously used Amazon brand smart plugs and the price was so much less than the Amazon brand plugs
5/5

This is BETTER! br>br> Why?
- They keep track of how much energy is used. The ones for Amazon have been completed.
- You can specify what happens to these in the event of a power outage (i. e. On, off, and how things were before the power went out). The Amazon brand plugs are only turned off by default. In some cases, this may be a problem.
- They are a fraction of the price of Amazon's brand plugs. br>br>You will not be disappointed!.

These will necessitate the use of a third-party app, your WIFI password, and the suppression of paranoia
3/5

The Amazon smart plug has the disadvantage of being relatively large, taking up far too much space on a power strip. So I bought four of these, naively believing that they would take up less space and be just as simple to set up as the Amazon plug. The good news is that they take up significantly less space than the Amazon plug. The good news comes to an end at that point. br>br>The installation instructions are written in a font of about 1 point, which presents the first difficulty for anyone with poor vision. You'll need to download the "Smart Life" app from the Play Store once you've deciphered those instructions. Go ahead and look it up in the Google Play Store. I'll hold off until you finish. Aren't you aware that there are a number of "Smart Life" apps? This necessitated the use of a QR Scanner in order to determine which "Smart Life" app to install (the Tuya app). After you've done that, you'll need to create an account using either your email address or your phone number. I don't know about you, but I'm a zealous defender of such information. As a result, I created a separate email account for this purpose and reluctantly completed the registration process. Next, you'll need to search for devices using that app, which will require you to submit your wifi password. I'm not a fan of giving out my email address or phone number, but my wifi password? Yikes. I went ahead and did it anyway, knowing that I'd be uncomfortable for a few months until I gave in and bought an Amazon plug. The Smart Life app will then be used to locate the plug. It isn't stated in the instructions, but this may necessitate prayer. After you've passed this patience test, you'll need to install a new skill in the Alexa app and start looking for the plug all over again. The Alexa app will eventually locate your plug, God willing. Here's a piece of advice: if Alexa discovers the plug, don't unplug it and relocate it like I did. Alexa may inform you that the plug has become unresponsive, as it did for me, necessitating the deletion of the plug from both apps and a fresh start. To avoid disrupting the connection, I recommend remaining completely still and quiet around it. That's exactly what I'm up to right now. br>br>I'm curious if someone in China will use my internet connection for nefarious purposes. Go ahead and ponder that for a while; I'm sure I will. Then simply purchase one of Amazon's bulky smart plugs, and you will thank me later.

This programmable outlet is shaped in such a way that it does not block access to a second outlet
5/5

It's a nice product that can be programmed using a free app. It's shaped in such a way that I can still use the other outlet. Because most designs are circular, using the second outlet is difficult. The app takes some getting used to, and sometimes one of the outlets doesn't turn off when I press the off button, but it eventually does after several tries. I was able to program my inept coffee maker with a timer, and coffee is now ready for me in the morning! When you're on vacation, it's also convenient to have the lamps turn on and off.

I am pleased with my purchase
5/5

This is the most user-friendly smart plug you'll ever come across! Simply connect it to your computer and launch the Alexa app. That concludes our discussion. It's all set to go! Unlike other smart plugs that have been sitting in my drawer because I couldn't get them to connect to my WiFi, and forget about customer service, this one worked right away. Simple to use and well worth the money. Alexa can now assist me in yet another way.

My days were made easier because of these plugs! I must say, I really liked these plugs; they're very useful to me because I have a lot of electronic devices that my kids use, but they don't always turn them off, and when I find out, they're overheated (e

I can now control how much energy an electronic device consumes and the electrical quantity for each month by programming the plugs, which have a great feature that shows how much energy an electronic device consumes and the electrical quantity for each month. br>The plugs are simple to program and control via my smartphone, they appear to be child-safe, and the design is attractive. They work with Alexa and can be controlled by voice. br>The pack contains four plugs; I've been using them for about a month and am very pleased with their quality. br>It's a definite must-have!.

Monitoring of the power supply
3/5

My previous electric bill was exorbitant, so I set out to figure out how much electricity my appliances used and how I could reduce my energy consumption. I signed up for tiered energy pricing with my electricity company, so I'm really trying to cut down on unnecessary electricity use during peak hours, and I thought this product might be able to help because I can monitor electricity and shut things down on schedule or remotely, so I bought a pack of four to test it out. br>br>These smart plugs look and function just like any other smart plug, taking up only one gang and leaving the other socket free. The on/off switch is located in the front, which has both positive and negative implications. I used it to power my aquariums by stacking a three-plug splitter on top of the smart plug. Because I never want to turn off my aquariums, the three plug splitter hides the on/off button perfectly, preventing any accidental switching off. Adding it to my TuyaSmart app took a little effort, but once I did, it worked perfectly. The power monitoring interface, on the other hand, is severely lacking. It does a good job, but I wish it could show me a graph of my power usage over time. br>br>In the end, I have them connected to my Raspberry Pi-based home assistant. Because the Home Assistant tuya integration doesn't support power monitoring, I had to create a custom integration that connects to the plugs locally. I'll be able to track my power consumption minute by minute once I've done that. br>br>For the money, these plugs did the job on the hardware side. There was some work that needed to be done on the software side, but there is a workaround.
