Questions & Answers

Is it possible to receive a notification when a power outage occurs?

It is not possible to communicate with the smart plug if it loses power even if the smart plug is connected to the network. Still, we are grateful that you are interested in this type of feature, and we'll share it with the proper I'll be there to assist you. Regards, TP- You can find support links here

Can the Sense Energy Monitor be used with this model?

Sorry, I'm not sure

Are you planning to use this with the Google Home Mini?

The literature suggests that the Google Home Mini is compatible with the Google Home. However, I have no experience with it. You can find out if there are any restrictions by looking at the Kasa app.

Doesn't need any proprietary apps or Internet access to work
5/5

copy is for your information only A copy of my review can be found here The same is true for the Link HS110, which I also have and enjoy. There are many similarities between these two models except that these HS105s are cheaper and smaller and do not have power The device works great, and you are not required to install any proprietary apps, use a cloud account, or connect to the internet before you can use it. Python scripts can be found on github that can be utilized to access all functions of the device, including WiFi configuration, switching on and off the power, updating the firmware, and many The free Home Assistant software for these devices also integrates well. It works perfectly with this setup because mine are on a separate network that is not connected to the Internet. I'm not sorry. It can't be reached on org), which is obvious. It is possible to fix this by making that name resolve to the desired local server, but it would be better if the device honored the NTP field sent when it received.

Early to mid-year Junk at a high price
3/5

It's a waste of money to use them. There are other brands of plugs I own that work just fine with their apps and with Alexa as well as most of them are HomeKit-compatible. There is no HomeKit compatibility, and half the time the schedule also doesn't work after the device is set up and extensive troubleshooting is performed. The price versus form factor and overall usability was what I considered to be the holy grail when I preferred the favored ones. Despite our best efforts, after using them for a month, they turn out to be flaky and not very effective. A rep from the manufacturer advised me to talk to the distributor regarding a return or refund. When I asked the distributor for advice, she said it was best to speak The joke's on me. The next time I use a home automation system, I'll stick with wemo and hue. Keeping away from Kasa's proprietary garbage is not a good idea.

WIFI can be changed only a few times a year
3/5

The six I have are all in my possession. Although I had to go through a few steps to install them, I was happy with them once I found out how. When I upgraded my WiFi, I got a different network name from the same company, but the same IP address. It was then that I found out there was no way to get the units to work that way. In order to use kaza receivers, you need to set up each device individually when you change wifi networks, or upgrade even on the same wifi network. You need to set your new network and password the same as your old ones or your devices won't work. That's a design flaw of the highest order! After spending over an hour trying to figure this issue out, I then reinstalled the devices, and I never got it fixed. There is no way I can handle this. I am furious.

Compared to the older, bigger model, this is a dramatic improvement
5/5

These old big models were annoying and would not only block the second outlet on the wall, but also took up so much space that it was just plain obtrusive. despite the fact that it is still a bit large in some situations (although I understand that it is tough to accomplish all that this device does in a In the morning, when my alarm goes off in the morning, my lights are already on and the fan I use for white noise has already turned on automatically (too many sudden noises in the house otherwise to sleep). It means (unless I am up too late) that I'll already have started to wake up (if I'm not up already) by the time the alarm goes off, meaning that I can get out of bed right away and start getting ready for the day. The next morning, as I get ready for work, the lights in my car turn off as I pull out of the drive way. When I used to do that routine, it looked As soon as I get up, I hear my first alarm. As I write, it is dark and there is a fan going. By turning it off, I am reducing energy consumption. Next morning, I'm woken up by my alarm. I take it off, I turn it on, once again, before finally waking up after the fourth or fifth alarm. Since the fan is still on, I do not want to remove the blanket, so I stay in bed and browse Twitter or something on my phone. On occasion, I may even fall asleep just as I am preparing to leave and have to wake up last-minute to leave. In the morning, when I finally get out of bed, I head across the room to turn off the fan, switch on the lights, and start getting ready. Then, about 9/10 times, I forget to turn off the lights when I leave the room. Every night, I use my Echo Dot for a sleep reminder, and I use my iPhone (I have a Siri shortcut set to turn the lights on and off) to turn off the lights without getting out of bed early the next morning. I have been able to decrease my stress levels considerably during the day due to the additional and better sleep I have gotten for the last two weekends as well as decreased cortisol levels resulting from waking up naturally to the lights turning on instead of setting my alarm. My point is not to say that everyone will experience the same kinds of effects (I'm sure not everyone has the same kind of messed up sleeping/waking up routine as I did), but home automation can drastically alter your life in ways you never expected. Additionally, here are some pro tips You should not set your lights to turn off at night automatically, because it is frightening to suddenly hear a 'click' after a long day of work. you are in total darkness and it takes a moment for your brain to register what has.

That's what they do A problem has been encountered A disappointment
3/5

There was one I bought a year ago and it hasn't had any problems. These ones, however, do not work, or maybe the app doesn't work, not sure what the problem is. The plug had a firmware update, but it took five attempts for the update to take effect. You may have a problem with the software or app. In my next post, I will post a video that shows the app switching between two smart plugs every few seconds, changing a name and status. Their IDs seem to be the same, or something like that. The one I am trying to turn on turns off as another one is turned on. In a comedy clip where the microwave starts working when someone turns on the light switch, I feel as if I'm inside. This is happening While the customer service from Link is polite, as I mentioned in my last review of the smart bulb, they follow a strict script which makes it difficult to replace a device. I will need months to replace them. It is easier for me to throw them away than to have them replaced. It would actually be better for me if I could get my money back, instead of replacing them. The end has come. TP is off the table for me - Visit this link!.
