Questions & Answers

It's a good deal, I want What are the steps to pair 3 to an Amazon Echo? Do I need to use separate names for each mark plug if so?

These devices are no longer compatible with Amazon Echo as of March 2, 2017. Until yesterday, I had 2 of them that worked perfectly with my Amazon Echo device until they stopped working in the same time frame (they still work with their own apps, and my Amazon Echo works with all the other devices I control). It appears I wasn't the only one experiencing this last night after doing some research online. TP-related complaints were reported by a lot of users on the Alexa "skills" section of the Alexa website Yesterday, the smart plugs from Link ceased to work with Alexa. We hope that this is a temporary situation and at TP-Canada the people are working hard to resolve it I would not recommend these devices if you plan to use Amazon Echo with them as of this morning due to the problem at Link.

The maximum power of the device to be attached to Smart Plug is how much?

For comparison, my hair dryer is 1875 watts (which is plugged into a smart plug of course), so it really doesn't take much to make these catch on fire. You should be cautious if you use anything larger than perhaps a desk lamp in them. My Kasa smart plugs will no longer be used, and I have unplugged all three of them.

Do you have any suggestions on how to get Alexa to recognize this device? She cannot ?

The Kasa app should be used first to setup the devices, then Alexa should be used to bind the TP-Link devices to the voice assistant. Your Kasa account and your Alexa account should be linked. When your devices are found by Alexa, Alexa should recognize them.

Tapping the power button on the side of the unit turns on the light, right?

The answer is yes With a single press of the button on the side of the HS103 Smart Plug, you can toggle its power state and the appliance it is connected to. Using the Kasa Smart app or Amazon Alexa, you can also conveniently turn the smart plugs on and off. I'll be there to assist you. Regards, TP- You can find support links here

The switches are great, but you should be cautious about security
5/5

The first set of TP-I bought were a few My lighting is controlled in part by HS200 wall switches. Wiring in the new switches was a major hassle after removing the previous ones. Nonetheless, I was so delighted with the ease of set up that I bought both HS103/HS105 plugs the next time. Now we can control a number of our appliances via the TP-Link. The Kasa app or Alexa can be linked Yet, I am concerned about the security risk of sharing my home WiFi password with the It's quite possible - ahem - for someone to hack into my router, my PCs, etc. , and steal my bank credentials, or launch botnets to infect computers with malicious software. It is therefore HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that a router that supports two networks is used. Separate passwords for each of them are a must. All your computers, phones, and tablets should be connected to the main network, and all your IOT devices should be connected to the guest network.

I encourage you to try it
5/5

It's pretty amazing how cool this thing is! Here is what I have so far thought It's been less than four hours since I received this gadget, and I'm already impressed with it. I am extremely pleased with the response. My email is still on my local network, but I'd like it to trigger from work, etc.

I installed the TP-Link box at work, which I've set to trigger from Email. I have attached it to a socket in my garage, and then used the app to set up a fan outside the garage so my dogs have a breeze. * * * This works well because I can schedule it so it goes off at certain times, allowing me to cool them off. We were only at the park for a certain amount of time. Plus, it was our dog's birthday, so As well as the app, it is good. Buying this crap is a good idea. In addition to my dogs, I added a picture of myself so you can see.

Easily set up and reliable
5/5

Compact and easy to use. A new winner in this month's TP Please click here. The products I've used from this company have been good I have had great experiences with Link devices in the past, so I had high expectations for these little WiFi outlets. Setup was a breeze 1) It took only a few minutes All you need to do is plug them in and configure them via the Kasa app. For those of you with an Echo, you can also control these by voice By using the Alexa app, you can easily add them as new devices. (They're also compatible with Google Home gadgets. extending about a half-inch You can even plug two of them at the same time, one above the other, because they are so compact. 3) They require NO hub, since they are wireless -

I strongly encourage you to do this. 4) They are easy to control, since the Kasa app is beautifully designed and fairly intuitive. You can use it to manually turn the plugs on and off as well as set schedules so that lamps or other appliances turn on and off at specific The connectivity has been without issue, and I would buy them again in a heartbeat. (I will likely purchase more of these because I keep finding new uses for them! It's generally a good idea to keep the number of smart home devices to a minimum, as each brand tends to have their own phone app, adding an additional layer of complexity to the whole thing. It is inevitable, however, that you will own devices from different manufacturers. If, for example, you would like to set up routines and schedules for plugs, lamps, etc. , rather than using an app for each individual brand, you can do so with In this way, you can manage all your scheduling from ONE app, and all of your devices are available to you at the same time.

The proper names of the switches are- I'll never let you down! It has been my dream to remember what each of these plugs is called to Alexa, and I've devised a plan to make it easier
5/5

When I had a sequence of words like "living room lamp" it would sometimes trip me up because I would forget a word like room and my commands would not For example, in each area of my home, I label each plug with a word that has a natural co-ordinate. Stevie is one lamp and Wonder is the other lamp in my living room. The two lamps on my dining room table bear the names of my grandma's first and middle names. Additionally, the bedroom lamp is the same as the dining room lamp. I guarantee it will be easier to follow if you try it out. Furthermore, it's much better for your health!.

That's a much better version The problem is
4/5

My favorite part of the TP is is a brand that is known for its smart outlets. Using this unit, one is able to plug at least two (2) things in at the same time in the outlet (one smart plug and one regular plug, The smart engineer would have put the plug part of the smart plug on the side, top or bottom of the plug so that it wouldn't stick out of the wall 2" or more The size of an almost 4-inch tall adult. If the plug is hidden behind something, it will remain far out in the room. I really appreciate the Engineers should be more careful.

Is it worth paying for just one Amazon smart switch when you can get two Kasa switches for the same price? TP-Link Kasa smart plugs are my Amazon smart plug and these TP-Link smart plugs are my Kasa smart plugs
5/5

It works just as well as a link. Kasa is a breeze to set up once you have the app downloaded - I was up and running within two Updating the plugs to the latest software version is also part of the process. I found it to be very easy to integrate with Alexa, and discovered it very easily without any hiccups. Once that's done, you can group them all together any way you like. I even created scenes using geography! I have a fence that turns on my kitchen lamp when I get close to One of them is going to be used to light my Christmas tree. As a result, the old timer will no longer be of concern to me. There is a solid feeling to the plugs, and they look and feel good. A satisfying click is heard when the side power button is pressed. As much as the Amazon smart plug is smaller, the Kasa smart plug is actually a bit larger. My old T-P-S is still in good working condition It was not too long ago that I bought it, but it is still working terrifically. So far, I haven't experienced any issues with my home WiFi I have not been able to connect. The Amazon smart plug costs the same, is built the same way, is the same quality, and is just as easy to use as two of these.
