Questions & Answers

Can you tell me the size of hole I should ?

In this case, I used a 1 1/16 Hole 688") diameter. There is nothing special about your drill, but if 1 3/4 is the nearest you have, you may be able to do it. You will have to open the back cover and disconnect and reconnect the wire connecting the connector to the cable. There is no need for anything else but My original plan was still to use it to connect a generator outside and cables to appliances inside and I was able to do it quite well.

Is the wire size on the pigtail the same as the cable?

According to the description, it is a 12 AWG SJT.

How do I remove the pigtail? Can it be permanently attached?

If you wish, you can remove the back cover and then loosen the screws on the wires to the pigtail like you did with the cover.

Is there a gauge of extension cord that would work with both the external and internal ends of this product?

It is recommended to use a 14 gauge cord. If it is to be used for less than 1,000 watts, a 16 gauge cord should be suitable. If it is to be used on a long extension cord, I would choose a 12 gauge cord.

This product was easy to install and quick to set up
5/5

It received a lot of positive reviews, so I decided to purchase it. I use it to bring power from my generator to my enclosed trailer quickly and easily. The side of my trailer needed to be intact, so I didn't want to make a big hole there. To space the lower part of the trailer from the connector, I used a block of wood. It was then only necessary to drill a small hole that was big enough for the cable to fit Once the hole has been drilled, seal it with silicone. The advantage was that I would only have a small hole in the floor, rather than a big one on the side of my trailer if I had to remove the connector.

The plug is decent, and the current is good
4/5

This charger is mounted on a boat that has a two bank battery system. Because of the ampacity of this plug, it's a good deal. Another brand that I like better (build and quality), but I used this one for the dual charger and the other brand for the single charger so that I could have a dual charger and a single In this case, there were only two screw holes, but I bought four new stainless screws and made two Basic plug, but I prefer the other brand in terms of looks and installation because of its higher amp rating.

A trailer enclosed with an enclosure is installed I find it simple and easy to do
4/5

In this case, it seems to work It is in my enclosed trailer so that I am able to plug-in an extension cord to my battery charger inside the trailer as well as to open and close the trailer's Unless you are doing something similar you should not attempt to install the port connector unless the thickness of the trailer walls is greater than the depth of the port connector. From within the trailer, drill a small indexing hole where you want to attach the port connector. Find that small hole on the outside and drill your 1 3/4" hole for the connector with a hole saw. Please do not drill all the way through the plywood wall on the interior. To avoid a gap on the interior wall, cut the hole a bit larger, using a 2" hole saw to accommodate the rubber boot on the back of the port connector. Using the 1 3/4" hole saw, drill a hole through the outer skin as well as the plywood interior, and using the rubber boot won't fit. As well as white silicone, I used a bit of duct tape. Take a look at the photos.

It would have been better to have done this a long time With this addition, I don't have to run a long extension to the back of my trailer to place my generator
5/5

This is a very simple installation. My only extra was a bit of clear silicone to finish the seal between the outlet and the.

It may not be possible to install this unit in the same hole if it is replacing an existing plug unit
4/5

It appears that the unit itself is excellent in quality and would be an excellent addition to As far as I was concerned, I had to replace one that did not have a pigtail. By doing so I would have void the warranty on my new charger as I'd have to cut off its plug in order to use my existing plug. Several holes in the side of my boat were drilled for the existing plug. However, the two holes required for this new plug were slightly larger, so it was impossible to line up the mounting screws so that both would catch. The pigtail portion of this cable was used in conjunction with my old cable, so I installed my old cable again. Having said that, I could have used the female end of an extension cord and accomplished the same thing, but it would not have been as heavy duty as this set up ultimately.

My dealer installed this one on my car, and I am replacing it with this one
5/5

Because the charger plug end gripped it, I lost about 1/4" of an inch in prong spacing going through the base. The extension cable end has about 3/16" of rubber on it, so I lost about 3/8th of an inch in contact on 3/4" I had several experiences where I would get ready for a trip only to discover the batteries hadn't charged. With the help of an additional hole in the drill, this was mounted in the existing While the screw pattern did not match the old one, it was a VERY small price to pay for the assurance that my battery will be charged when I need them. I enjoyed the large cord on this and was able to route it out of the way easily.

When in use in the rain, it's not a wet location, but good for storing closed or not in contact with the rain
5/5

On the whole, I find the product to be quite good. A relay-controlled power outlet will allow a dust collector to be turned on once a switch is flipped for my bench saw. An INLET at this junction will allow power to enter the relay system from a different circuit than the saw's the biggest problem as opposed to weather exposure, the INlet in the saw base will be protected by an outdoor box and a weatherproof cover while in use. The device I have chosen is as close to being the perfect solution as I could find.

I am very satisfied with this product
5/5

My life as an angler has been made so much easier by this product. The area around my boat has a lot of batteries and four on-board chargers (my state allows only electric motors), so there is a lot of wiring. I was able to tuck all of the wires and plugs away in dry areas of the boat using this product. Instead of having to worry about outlet space, time, and frustration, now I can just plug my extension cord into this port. If you are going to install it on your boat, make sure that it is installed well above the waterline. Though it looks like a waterproof seal, I wouldn't want to put it to the test! There are a few points worth The only screws it came with were black ones, not silver ones. As I ordered three, they were absent on all three, so I know it wasn't just an It worked perfectly thanks to some bolts and nylon insert nuts I had on hand.
