The assembly is not going to work. The outlet would have to be taken off the mounting plate. Your local hardware store may be able to provide you with a replacement outlet based on the model of your unit. To get to the old inverter, you'd have to disassemble your current one. Because my Xantrex Solar Charger Inverter is already pre-wired for this, I figured I'd take advantage of it. The irony is that the local solar shop in town never adds or even mentions these. While reading the inverter's manual, I happened upon it. It's just a regular GFCI, but it comes with an adapter that makes connecting it to the inverter a breeze. The inverter has already been configured. It only took 3 minutes to connect the wires to the GFCI.
I received precisely what I desired; it fit; It is now operational. camper who is happy.

If you already own a Xantrex inverter, there's no reason not to enhance its capabilities with this fantastic add-on. It's extremely simple to set up.
It's quite effective.
