There aren't any that I'm aware of that are manufactured in the United States - Sad
Yes- superior to the competition Mine was protected by a "so-called" waterproof cover. It runs my sump pump, which is located in my pool cover pit. ,dreadful location. It is always hot and humid. I used GE silicone to seal the box. This year has been particularly wet in California. There hasn't been a trip.
Make sure your voltage is correct first. On the line side terminals, connect ungrounded to brass, grounded or neutral to silver, and egc to green screw, as you stated. enliven, revert to the previous state If everything was done correctly but the gfci still doesn't work, it's time to replace it.
This device should not be used with aluminum wiring unless it is properly terminated with wire connectors designed and rated for use with aluminum conductors.

I'm fairly certain the item I received was a rip-off. There was a problem with the outlet. The screws were found to have 120 volts on a multimeter. When you plug something into the top, it immediately trips the breaker. The bottom outlet would provide power until it was unplugged, at which point it would trip. I double-checked my wiring and had another person do so as well. I went to HD and got the "same" thing. It worked perfectly after I wired it in the same way. The markings on store-bought packaging were all over the place. The Amazon one was similar in color but mostly blank; fortunately, Amazon accepts returns.
It appears that the outlet is a good GFCI WR rated outlet. The wires connect to which screws according to the instructions on the device. It also labels the load/line and hot/white wire connections, in addition to the black gold screws. With this outlet and box, I was able to replace an older one. Due to no fault of this outlet, the installation was especially difficult. The wires were just long enough to reach the screws, but they were stiff to move, and it was 40 degrees outside, making my hands very uncomfortable. Still, I undid the old outlet and reconnected this one in the same manner, double-checking the labeling for accuracy. Everything is crystal clear in that area. There is also a second outlet downline that has been connected. That was also obvious because the new outlet came with a sticker identifying the plugs. I reattached the cover plates to the house (a little too soon, obviously), and then reconnected the power at the breaker. br>br>I have a non-profit organization that I am involved with. A load tester was used to confirm that electricity was flowing through the wires all the way up to the outlet. The 3- The small LED on this WR outlet is not on, and the prong tester I used showed no lights. The TEST and RESET buttons have no effect on the GFCI, and they don't seem to trip in the same way that a normal GFCI would. br>br>Because the hot wire is connected to the circuit breaker and has power, there's no chance of another GFCI tripping this up. It's extremely aggravating. Tomorrow I'll disassemble and double-check the connections, but I'll probably go to HD and get another outlet and return this one.
I bought two of these GFCI outlets because I've had good luck with Leviton products in the past and know they're reliable and easy to install. I recommend that you follow the instructions provided rather than relying on how the device was wired on the previous outlet. When the green light didn't come on and I couldn't reset it the first time, I realized I had wired it incorrectly. Because there were only two wires to connect on the first outlet, correcting my error was simple. The second outlet I needed to connect had four wires, and I thought I had followed the instructions correctly, but it turned out that I needed to connect the two white wires as well as the two black wires. The instructions are correct, but you should pay close attention to how the outlet appears in the directions. Because it's upside down (as in the Amazon photo), everything must be reversed (though black and white remain on the correct side). The green light did not come on at first after I reversed them, but after I reset the outlet, it did. Because these are outlets on an outdoor patio, I matched them with a waterproof outlet cover to protect them from water and other debris. It would have taken about 10 minutes to install each outlet if I hadn't made a mistake. Make sure the outlet at the electrical box is always turned off.
Leviton had me expecting more. Meh is a better word. It is the source of energy for a. Aquarium pump with a capacity of 25A. Occasionally, a 5A battery charger is added, but it does not last a year. All of that was connected in the previous receptacle, but it only lasted four years. Regrettably, I failed to record it. Is it possible that this is a hoax? I tossed it out in favor of a "real" WR "chinesium. " Let's see if it lasts any longer than this. br>Another point to remember is that this is an external outlet. However, it is covered and protected by a weatherproof box and is located within the internal patio. It isn't reached in a direct way. This, however, is also connected to other in-house systems. outlets within the home Is that going to have an impact on it as well? Please let me know if you know the answer. Thanks.
It was a perfect fit and functioned flawlessly. Installing it was a breeze, and the instructions were clear. br>br>I'm not sure why two of my original (WR rated) ones failed and refused to reset after three years. These were professionally installed (and barely used) on the outside of the house in proper enclosures. They weren't wet, and there aren't any obvious wiring issues. br>br>Edit: I ordered a third to replace an older outlet, and this one appears to be defective right away. I turned it on but it wouldn't reset after the self-test, so I ordered a replacement to make sure it wasn't something else, and it's working fine now. I like the features, but the reliability is unacceptable. I'm downgrading my rating to 3 stars because there's no reason why the failure rate on these is so high so quickly, especially with such limited/light use. Basic outdoor outlets have served me well for decades, but one more failure and I'm getting rid of them all and going in a different direction.
