Questions & Answers

Is it possible to use this outlet for a washing machine?

Yes, that is correct. Simply check the prongs on your washing machine's plug; if they fit, everything should be fine.

Will the gfi work if it is miswired?

They must be correctly wired in order to function properly. The gfci will be tripped by some led lighting. A gfci should not be used to power LED lights. The black (hotwire) wire is connected to the line side's gold screw, while the white (neutral) wire is connected to the line side's silver screw. The ground wire is connected to the line side's green ground screw. The GFCI receptacles on the load side are the ones that need to be protected.

Is it the ivory or the light almond that is darker? From the images, it's difficult to tell?

Ivory is a lighter shade of light almond.

Is it true that the "self test" turns off the power to anything plugged into the outlet for a brief period of time?

I'm not aware of any.

If the negative reviews are making you nervous, read this
4/5

People who believe we live in the 1950s and are attempting to wrap wire around screws account for the majority of negative reviews. This is no longer the case; You don't bend your wire to wrap it around the screw; instead, you simply push it up under the plate and tighten the screw. The wire does not have to be bent into a u shape. br>br>The device is in perfect working order. It's simple to set up and shallow enough to replace an old two-prong plug in an older home. Make sure you order the correct 15 amp or 20 amp version. Check the breaker box for the switch that connects to the new plug. The switch will be marked with a number, such as 15, or 20, which will indicate which one to order. br>br>Because the faceplate is smaller than most, some touch-up paint may be required.

In a very large electrical box, it might be acceptable
3/5

Despite passing a preliminary test, it appears to have been damaged when I pushed it into the small electrical box. br>br>12 wire for a 20-foot cable br>br> As you push the receptacle into the electrical box, the amp circuit is forced to fold in on itself. This design appears to be unsuitable for the job. Despite the fact that there was no evidence of surface damage, the installation failed after I finished it. The green light flickered while testing with a nightlight, and the items in downstream outlets were left without power. The return was accepted without a hitch by Amazon. br>br>Even though Amazon didn't show it when I bought the Faith receptacle, I found an equivalent Leviton receptacle for a few dollars more on Amazon. I had to look up the model number for Leviton: GFNT2- The Leviton receptacle is a fraction of an inch smaller, which is ideal for a small electrical box.

I had high hopes, but it just didn't work out
3/5

It failed after two months of operation with only one LED outdoor light set to dusk to dawn. There are no burn marks or visible evidence, and the device simply will not reset! I even purchased two! The second one, hopefully, will last at least a year. I'll post an update if "Faith Electric" corrects it (or if the second one fails).

If you don't want to be frustrated, don't buy! This switch was installed about a month ago and has been working flawlessly
3/5

It kept kicking off every two hours or so the other day, and I couldn't figure out why. I looked at everything I could think of to figure out what was causing it to go crazy. It was tripping despite the fact that there was nothing plugged into any of the garage outlets. It couldn't possibly be the GFI I replaced just a few days ago. Finally, I considered the possibility that the GFI had gone bad after only a month. I came here to read the reviews, and it appears that this is a common issue with the GFI products made by this company. I spent the extra $3 on a Leviton GFI, which solved the problem. I would avoid this product and instead spend the extra money to get a good brand name one, install it, and forget about it!.

Problems
3/5

I installed a 20 amp (overrated) on a dedicated circuit for a freezer with a thermostat that turns it on and off, but I'm not sure if it's the GFCI or the brand. Every three days, it would make a trip. I installed a 15 amp circuit breaker inside the garage, which will cut power momentarily or completely as you plug in devices without tripping it. The devices will sometimes work, but then the entire 2 gang box will be unpowered, despite the fact that the GFCI has not been tripped. Short-run circuits that have never been seen before. Personally, I believe it is the manufacturer's fault.

I spent hours going through the circuit, inspecting every junction and outlet box, and eventually narrowed the problem down to two of these
3/5

They'd display the following error messages: Reversed Hot and Ground, as well as Open Neutral. It was a complete waste of time; I ordered three more of a different brand and they work perfectly. These are not something I would recommend.

The old one was tripping and had to be replaced
5/5

I decided to take the risk because this was only a few dollars cheaper than the 20A at the big box. The manufacturing quality appears to be comparable to that of other items I've purchased in the past. A gfci that was tripping all the time was replaced. So far, everything has gone according to plan - Although there is likely to be some leakage downstream, this one hasn't been too picky so far. Can you tell which one was the big box and which one was this?.

Trippers who are easy to get around
3/5

These are professionally installed with line and load rules followed throughout, and the odd one will go off even if nothing is plugged in when something downstream is!.
