I don't believe so; instead, I believe it is for the protection of something you work with, such as tools.

Following a recent storm, the GFI for the motor on my boat lift failed. If anything, this replacement GFI is better than the original switch, and it was a breeze to install. I like the automatic capability, which the original lacked, and the fact that several sizes of rubber seal gaskets were provided to cover various cable sizes was also helpful in ensuring a tight water resistant seal, which was required for my application. This company clearly understands what it takes to create a fantastic product, and the price is very reasonable. This is unquestionably a BESTBUY.
I had given up hope of ever finding the same breaker mechanism, but to my surprise, it was available on Amazon almost immediately. It arrived at my house in less than 48 hours, giving me no time to complain. br>I don't usually write reviews, but I felt compelled to comment on how simple this repair was. br>DO NOT make the mistake of attempting to resolve this problem on your own. a perfectly good power washer is being thrown away!.
For a variety of reasons, I chose the ELEGRP over several other replacement GFCI plug options. First and foremost, I appreciate the fact that it includes three different grommets to accommodate various cable sizes. I also appreciate the GFCI's inclusion of a pigtail, which allows me to share an outlet with another plug while also fitting under the cover of my outdoor electrical box. This GFCI is suitable for my pressure washer because it can be used both indoors and outdoors. The pigtail is 14/3 AWG, which means it can carry 15 amps at 120 VAC, not the lower current value that some cheaper units can. It is UL listed, which is reassuring, but I am not fond of the fact that it is made in China.
PERFECT! During a cold spell, I needed to come up with a temporary solution to power a chicken coup water heater. I didn't want to risk an electrical short, so I made sure I had a GFI inline for the project; it's not a high-draw application, and all of the lighting in the coup is LED, so the application only draws about 100W in total. I found the cheapest extension cord with a GFI, but it cost a lot more than I wanted to pay. I looked into plug-in options, but they were still prohibitively expensive. I found this unit and it was perfect; I bought a 100' extension cord, cut off the plug end, and wired this onto the cord; it was simple, three wires, and came with detailed instructions. Everything is in order. br>I like that it has a standard plug on the end, rather than the oversized right angle GIANT GFI wall wart, and that it does not require a cord pigtail into the gfi. In addition, the kit included three stress relief rubber sleeves for various chord sizes, as well as an internal cord locking bar to prevent the cord from pulling out of the GFI. br>Extremely well-made and water-resistant. br>It comes highly recommended. I'm thinking about getting another one for another extension cord. br>I'm really pleased with how everything turned out.
25k OHMS was used in the testing. Works perfectly, even with 25k ohms. For an outdoor Intex pool pump, this is a safe replacement part. I intend to be another customer for my patio lighting in the near future. When I test it, it trips much faster than my GFCI breaker, which I prefer because it also powers my DVR cameras. br>br>It comes with a variety of water seals to keep it water resistant with various gauges of wire, as well as a nice gasket to keep the wire cover sealed that isn't too difficult to keep in place. I recommend using a dielectric grease to prevent corrosion and extend the life of the device.
HeatTrack snow melting mats are among our many possessions. We discovered one set wasn't heating up after the recent snowfall. After some investigation, I determined that the power cord was probably bad because it wouldn't reset when I hit the test button and my mats worked fine when connected to a different power cord. The picture on Amazon looked exactly like what I needed, so I took a chance and ordered because it was half the price of buying a new cord directly from HeatTrak. My heated mats are now working again after only 10 minutes of swapping out the old for the new.
It doesn't get much easier than this. The GFIC switch on my power washer broke down. After reading the reviews, I decided to order this one as a replacement. The following day, it arrived. The instructions for replacing the faulty switch (if one was required) were simple to follow. The extra selection of grommets for accommodating the various sizes of electrical cords used for various appliances was a plus. I spent about 15 minutes removing my old switch and replacing it with this one. The majority of my time was spent removing the original, broken switch! This is a straightforward problem to resolve. Note: It's "rainproof," not "waterproof," according to the switch. Moisture can cause these switches to fail. Black electrician's tape was used to cover areas where moisture could easily enter. So far, everything seems to be going swimmingly.
Simply be aware of your surroundings. I had a brand new hot tub (Water's Edge) and dropped the GFIC 2 feet to the ground after only a week. DEAD ! I removed the wire and replaced it with this (which arrived the next day!). The GFIC came with three sizes of wire holders and took all of ten minutes to put together. Later on, I discovered that the original GFI could be disassembled without cutting the wire or cutting the wire ends. br>After 15 minutes, I was back in business and GFIC protected. Three weeks was no problem, and it even rained!.
