Questions & Answers

What are the chances this will work with ?

It worked great for me when I used the RG6 cable, and I think it will also work for you if you have a 6ft free space between the wall and TV. It worked great for me so I hope it works for you as well.

I like it a lot! In my job, I work for a local cable company and I've used the Klein and Jonard F-wireless system There are tools
5/5

This model has been discontinued and is in short supply It is a solid model but has been discontinued. The Jonard's fittings break easily and it is cheaply made. In spite of its shortcomings, however, this tool is even better than the Klein (not something I would have ever imagined) The fact that the cable is prepped, and there is a fitting at the base that allows the coax cable to be pushed without killing your thumbs, makes this product a winner in my book. Furthermore, it's great for opening crowded taps and easily removing/screwing in any The only drawback is that there is no center peg to hammer in wall plugs. That said, this tool is a must have for anyone in the cable/AV industry.

If you have a lot of connectors to fit, this will be a great tool for you
5/5

In addition to the nut driver for access in crowded areas, I also bought this tool. While I thought the flaring and screw mount would be useful for some jobs, it was not essential for my task. Then I realized I was mistaken. It ended up being easier to use the prep fixtures than the nutdriver. Installing the EX6PLUS RG software is a breeze with this tool The compression fit connectors can be attached to the quad shield coax much more easily than by hand. For what it is, it is a bit pricey in my opinion, but I recommend it Made with care and precision It was designed with a purpose in mind. Those who do their own network wiring for TVs and satellites will find this tool to be a favorite after using a few times. Whether you are a serious DIYer or a professional cable installer, you should really check it out.

The price of this item excludes me from recommending it
3/5

However, I gave it two stars because the intention of the designer appears to be pure. Although there is a manufacturing side to the product. It was unfortunate that it failed. For the past 20 years, I have been working in the cable/internet industry. As for the length of the tool, I expected that it would make MDU splitter work easier than traditional shield tools (that are much Security shield tools can be a pain to use on some MDU boxes due to their messy design. The long handle only enables this key to be used for the last one or two turns of the connector because of the extra length.

One problem with this product is that the hexagonal part does not go all the way to the end. This tool is not usable when you use weather grommets on your connectors. In my experience, though, the most frustrating aspect of the tool was when the shaft became detached from the handle after two days of use, rendering the tool unusable. This was the first time in a long time that I felt compelled to warn others about fancy software products that promise big but under deliver. After spending $16 I feel obliged ***I am a professional cable technician and do not.

Simple to install, so it's a good choice for simplifying installation
5/5

I found it to be very helpful. Simple to install, so it's a good choice for simplifying installation. Asked the device to push on compression connectors on a RG6 Quad shield cable and it worked without problem. In addition to causing thumb nerve pain for two days, it did the same thing without the tool to help stretch and hold the connector. When I faced 4 terminations on the first day of using this tool, I decided to purchase it. I was able to attach the remaining five connectors much more easily, no pain in my fingers, and was able to use more leverage in pushing them into place. However, there was still need for a compression tool to be used.

That's what I mean! My antenna was connected to the TV with this tool after it had been run through my wiring closet
5/5

In addition, I used the tool to attach the ends to the wires in the wall and to make a couple of jumper wires. When I used the coax flair tip most of the time, I was able to get my connector in place on the end with just a little extra muscle (make sure you gently push the center insulator into the center of the connector before you try to muscle it into place). In some cases I added just a small amount more force by using the holder for the F connector. It really makes the job a lot easier when you are putting F connectors on coax cables by using this tool (but especially the coax flair tip).

This little tool is handy
5/5

I think it's a bit expensive for what it does, but it does what it was advertised to do. It is possible to go a little farther with a slightly more gradual taper, but I believe the tool will just be used to open the top of the jacket/insulation, not open up the entire path for the connector as I had believed. It's not that easy to insert the connector with the flare tool than by just pushing a nail in behind the braid a little. However, the thread on the end gives you nice leverage to fasten the connector on, and the wrench is pretty convenient as well.

You didn't realize you needed this tool
5/5

No matter how hard I tried I was unable to install a connector on an existing cable, so I thought I would try this as a last ditch effort before I called the cable company. I was able to use it right away! I was finally able to install connectors, with the expander and extra force to push the connector on the cable, which I needed that much more because my hands were arthritic.

F connectors for outdoor use do not work
3/5

This is a good product but it doesn't work with all f connectors. I was hoping it would work with the ones that have a cover but it doesn't work with these. They are wider and do not fit in the tool, but it works perfectly with the indoor ones.
