Questions & Answers
This isn't something you should buy. The first day at work, it broke.
There is no need for a manual. Simply make a loop and pull it repeatedly. You can also watch videos of it in action on YouTube.
It's not a problem in the least. That's exactly what I did with it, and I believe that's what it was designed for. This is a fantastic tool that I strongly recommend. It takes care of all the twisting for you, making the job much easier and quicker. This was a wise investment.
"Break" is a term that I'm not familiar with. It's a soft wire, so you don't have to twist it all the way down. Perhaps you should shorten your strokes and pull one less time; I did bend my hook a little more.

I've been using this tool for a few days now, and it seems to be working well. There are a lot of mixed reviews, which I consider when buying something, so my review is solely based on my own experience and opinion. br>br>Although I am a general contractor, I am not a concrete expert and do not use this tool professionally, so speed is not an issue for me. I'm satisfied as long as it lasts for the duration of my home's footing projects. br>br>I usually use the standard twist tie tool that most rod busters use, which has its own set of issues, so giving this new tool a try was worthwhile. It has far more tension than is required, in my opinion. Unless you hold the rebar while using this tool, it is easy to pull it out of place. With a twist tool, you'd be able to hold it, but not as tightly. With the eyelets, I use standard length ties, and it takes 3 to 4 full pulls to tighten the wire. 1 or 2 seeks are more appropriate, and with a twist tool, it only takes about 6 twists to finish. br>br>It makes the most perfect twists I've ever seen, but in rebar, that doesn't matter. If necessary, I will update this review, but my three stars are based on the amount of force and the number of pulls required to complete the task for which it was designed. Despite the fact that speed isn't a major consideration, I believe that twisting wire takes more effort and time than using a regular twist tool. I've seen videos of this type of tool that only requires one pull to complete the same task as this tool that requires three.
It worked perfectly until it disintegrated and launched a spring 14 feet into the air. Before the end plug with the lanyard loop ejected, I made it through a few more sticks of rebar than pictured. The black handle slipped off not long after that. This had no bearing on operation because the weight had been reduced. Then a spring exploded from the end, nearly ripping someone's eye out. It COULD still be used, but I'm going to go out and get a new one. The hook end does not auto retract, which makes the process much more difficult. br>I bought this in May, let it sit in the toolbox for seven months, and then used it for a third of my project. br>Really? This thing craps the bed in less than half of a 30x45 shop with one foot on center rebar? It would be nice if it held up, but I didn't buy it expecting it to fail so quickly; it serves me right for buying Chinese products.
So far, this wire twister has performed admirably. I'm laying 2000' of rebar, which necessitates over 1000 ties, and I was able to complete the task quickly and efficiently, saving approximately 4 hours and a few sore fingers. br>One word of caution: with this twister, it's very easy to overtighten the ties; I broke about 12 before figuring out how much to pull. I have another 1000 ties to tie today, and I'm excited to use Twitter once more.
This was something I was really looking forward to. The majority of reviewers gave it a one-star rating, and I received one as well. For about 25 minutes of wire twisting, it worked perfectly. The hook then flew away. It appears to have come loose. Whatever method the manufacturer used to keep it in place was ineffective. The item was returned for a refund.
This tool had piqued my interest. It cost more than a lot of the other places I looked at. It went well for the first dozen ties, but then something went wrong inside and the hook wouldn't retract. So I manually pushed it back in, and when I pulled on the wire ties, it still twisted them. It just came completely loose after another 6 wire ties, and the wire ties will not retract or twist. I would advise against purchasing this tool. Junk.
I haven't had the opportunity to use this item yet. However, I purchased it to replace the one I had broken at my brother-in-law's house. Since then, he hasn't complained about it. I mean, after my sheepish grin and guilty admission that I messed up his first one. There have been no complaints after several months, so I believe the product is of good quality.
The first day of use, it broke for the first half of the day. It was too late to turn around now. I had hoped for a higher standard of craftsmanship.
