Product Description

THIS IS A ESSENTIAL ELECTRICAL TOOL The I-Beam ground clamp provides a solution for grounding to I-Beams or other metal frame elements. You can use this product on a commercial, industrial, agricultural or residential scale.
The ground clamp is built with a high-conductivity copper alloy that is strong and durable, and it includes nuts, bolts and lock washers fabricated from stainless steel.
Maximum strength and conductivity come together in this I-Beam ground clamp, which features a lay-in feature for use with continuous grounding loops and ranges of 4/8, 2/0-4, and 2/0-250 ohms.
UL 467 listed for direct burial, bonding and grounding applications in concrete and soil, each ground clamp isolated from beam is cULus listed and approved for direct burial, bonding and grounding applications.
ELECTRICAL TOOLS COLLECTION Morris Products is pleased to offer a broad range of electrical tools, including wire connectors, non-insulated ferrules, and nylon cable ties, among others.

Questions & Answers

If this clamp makes its connections through an I beam, does a hole need to be drilled into it?

If you get the item, it will be pretty obvious to you how the clamps clamp down on the beam and how the ground wire attaches

A pointed groove grips the flange of the I beam, doesn't it? When torque is needed, how much is needed?

Using the grooved portion of the beam, you can secure skinned wire to it. Ideally, the two points should meet and the clamp should be forced to tighten properly so that the wire (on the beam side) makes good If you want to choose the right clamp, you must consider the wire size. Using C clamps and solid # 6, I bonded the frames of a double wide to each other to reduce ground variation in the ground. Rather than use a torque wrench, I used an ohm meter to check the continuity.

When a ground wire is clamped, which side does it clamp on?

A clamp clamps around the conductor at the upper end. A clamp will clamp the conductors 12,10,8 if it is placed over them. In smaller wire sizes, such as 14,12,10, you can double the conductor by double backing the wire so it will fit into a 1/2 clamp.

Selected User Reviews For Morris 91715 Morris Products 91715 I Beam Ground Clamp, Isolated From Beam, #8 - #4 Wire Range

A steel building must have this type of ground in order to comply with For example, buildings made of steel need a ground clamp and a ground wire when they are located In this case, I drilled a hole into a support "z" channel next to the load center and installed it neatly
