Connecting the wires of my solar PV array (8 AWG) to the load side of my main service disconnect (3/0 AWG) worked perfectly. Their compact sizes make them easy to transport A split bolt wrapped with tape is much more efficient than a bulky bolt. It was a great way to connect a line without having to power down the source or do all the cutting and splicing usually required when taping.
This product allowed me to connect a #6 AWG ground cable to the main negative battery cable without removing the ground.
My intention was to use them at the meter to tie into my main line. I was able to use these perfectly and easily. As the utility company didn't want to add lugs to the solar system, as well as didn't require me to add a second panel, they suggested this as the best way of tying solar to the meter. I was tied to the 6 AWG solar by wires of 0/0AWG. I like this product a lot.
