B-Structural Channel is one of several brands of a material known as structural channel. LINE, UNISTRUT, POWERSTRUT, and SUPERSTRUT are all terms for the same thing. As a base for mounting brackets or devices, that channel is attached to walls or other structures or hung on "all thread" rod. The cone nut on display is twisted 90 degrees and fits between the channel's lips. The nut is held in place against the lips by a flexible plastic cone. Items can then be bolted in place, with the grooves' "teeth" digging into the lips to keep everything in place and prevent sliding. If you go to LOWE'S or THE HOME DEPOT and look near the electrical conduit, you can get an idea of how it all works. There are many more parts of the system than those found in the above stores, and they can be found on the internet by GOOGLING the brands mentioned above.
