What is the distance between the conduit and the surface that the hanger holds it? Will I still need to bend at an angle?

I've discovered that the difference in height between 1/2" emt conduit and a metal outlet box isn't significant.

I'm curious about the strap's width. Is it about a quarter-inch thick?
