Is this gearbox compatible with the Tarter Industries Master Rancher 6' Finish Mower? The part number 184000 appears to be the same in both of them. ?

A supplier supplies the gearbox to a number of different manufacturers. It should work if the part numbers are the same.

Is there a way to make this one work or is it the wrong one? My current shaft has a drift key or pin that isn't splined like in the picture. ?

Ideally suited - However, there was a difference in the connection to the motor. A new connecting piece had to be made. This one is round, whereas mine was in the shape of a star. When I was ordering, I didn't notice. It was taken from a Wolverine cutter. It works perfectly after that.
