The reverse direction of the fan does not need to be applied. You can turn the blades either way and they will function well. It is impossible for the air to reverse direction through the vent.

The unit is very noisy compared to the original fan, so I ended up removing it, cleaning and oiling the original motor, and reinstalling it until I found something better. Additionally, the number of studs was a bit different, so the mounting bracket holes had to be enlarged to accommodate it.
" Factree" is almost a direct match. It was made to work by a guy. There is a 1/4" length difference between the shaft and the bearing. In order to allow free spin and lower the housing somewhere between a scooch and a scoach, I drilled a 5/16" hole where the mounting stud holes were located on the mounting bracket.
