The motor works well. This blower motor was purchased for the air handler in my heat pump to replace an older GE model. Every model of GE X13 motor can be replaced with the Evergreen motor. General Electric, once a leading manufacturer of motors, has stopped manufacturing them. It turns out that the Genteq motors were designed by GE under the Regal brand name Genteq was renamed GE Motors by Beloit after it was acquired by Beloit. You can replace your X13 with an Evergreen no matter what model you have. The only thing you need to do is buy a new engine with the same horsepower as your old one. Very good instructions were included with the package. It appears to be working In total, I spent 260 dollars for the motor and shipping. It cost almost one thousand dollars to replace the motor with labor at the HVAC dealer. About half a hour was all it took to pull out the blower, replace the old motor with the Genteq, hook up the old wiring, and slide the entire unit back into the ductwork. As soon as I turned the breaker back on, the blower came back on and the heat came back on! I would have spent over seven hundred dollars if I had done.
A better price is not to be found anywhere else. When I grew up, it was not so long ago that a central air conditioner's blower was the most likely to fail. Repairmen make money off of this junk, so it's a money maker. Due to the fact that you have more than $6000 in your unit, you decided to stick with it. It lasted two years when the original motor was installed. After the first one lasted 5 years, the second from Amazon lasted 3 years and now I'm about to purchase my third. There is one thing you should do. It might save your life if you turn the power off and pull the blower down. Tape all the wires together very well while the motor is still on. You can save $250 by keeping them in the right order. More often than not, it is best to do Now I know how to do it well. My first time there was a lot of fear.
The price was great, and the installation was easy. I had no problems replacing an X13 because there were no wire concerns. All of that being said, this has put me in a pickle again. When I replaced a 3/4 HP X13 that was on a speed setting of 4, I found this 3/4 HP Genteq Evergreen to have far better airflow than the X13 when you set the speed to 5 (High/High). Therefore, my house gets hotter and hotter, gradually, on hot days (mid 80s to high I should probably have 2 air conditioning units for my house, so if you don't push it like each of my units, you will be fine. I say though that the 3/4 HP will have a lot less airflow than your X13 did with the same settings.
It was very easy to install and I saved a lot of money. The old motor shaft was somewhat rusted and put a bit of effort into pulling it, but this new one went on Sick of companies deceiving people and lying only because they do not know what they are doing. My unit works in a very involved way, so after researching it for one day I felt comfortable taking on this project as well as finally understanding how it There are many HVAC contractors, for example, who are cheating people. Now, I understand just how badly they are doing it. I don't think there is any need for me to repair my system again unless I lose all the coolant, and it needs to be refilled.
There is an error in the photo on the product listing of the power socket. It has been well over a month, dead of summer, and the motor is still working well. Please note There seems to be a problem with the motor plug socket in the photo. This was my first time taking a chance on it. It was a good thing, thank goodness. C, L, G, N, BLANK - The power sockets. My original BLANK socket does not appear to have two plugs or pins in the product image. The photo shows the actual product that I have in my hands. In comparison with There is only one listing, and the plug on the listing is incorrect.
The photo in the listing is inaccurate, and the socket is blank. I was quite pleased with this plug. It indeed fits my original plug as this model promises it will. Here are the photos of the actual product. I have also included photos of another product similar to this one. My search for what I needed ended here. ** Product arrived with extra parts so you can wire up your own harness if needed (this is a nice touch).
Due to a problem with the electronic part of the original motor, I decided to replace it completely. If I had wanted to buy the electronic component on eBay for $150, I could have done so. The old motor was difficult to remove, however, as I had not considered. Your company gave me a free motor shaft by not lubing it. During the elongation process, it seized on the blower cage, which I also had to replace. Those idiotic Carrrier people would not sell me one (I am not a licensed contractor!). My motor swap was not covered by my insurance (as if I'm going to pay a contractor over $1000 for it!). My advice would be to apply a little never seize to the motor shaft before installing it. *I have not had to run this motor for an extended period so I cannot say for sure about durability, but it works great and draws about 100 watts less power due to the smart meter, according to FL smart meters. I have had no problems so far.
I'm a handy guy, but know little about HVAC systems, so I installed it in no time. And it worked great and continues I would recommend this product because of its high quality and the fact that it is high on the quality scale.
Thanks to Amazon Prime same day shipping for this motor, I have been able to save $400 on part alone. I do not need to worry about labor because I am an expert. My only complaint is the motor is not as powerful as the original motor. I will contact the seller for assistance. As a result of the power, I only gave this product three stars. I wish Amazon would supply the OEM motor or at least the controller at a.
