Although I don't know, one thing I can tell you is that the doorbell only rang once for me after I bought it. Don't spend your money on squander.
To run the AC surge protector, I had to buy a 24 volt transformer from the hardware store. Despite having zero problems since the install of the 24 volt one, this one did not work for me.
If you are (multimeter) measuring the output from the ring device or from the transformer, please let me know. In fact, I discovered that the transformer I had purchased was much lower voltage than what was required for the Ring Doorbell. I know, it's so simple, right? I purchased a Ring brand name transformer and now I'm no longer fooling around! My shock was great when it arrived!
